My daughter is 18 days old and I have already been asked out for lunch. I'd love to go, but I'm wondering if this is too soon? Her Grandma would be willing to watch her for the afternoon (my daughter loves to nap and socialise) and although I am breastfeeding, I have a few ounces refrigerated just in case. Her father and I have grown apart to the point where I want nothing to do with him; dating would be a change of scenery for me after the cruddy relationship we had.

Anybody?

everyone is different. I think if you feel lonely and want to go out once in awhile that is fine. And it's good that your daughter is with someone for a few hours so she's not always attatched to you. As long as you put your daughter in first priority, then take it slow and have fun. Just be careful tho, the first 6 weeks you are vulnerable at getting pregnant again, so take all precautions!

I think you will know when you feel you can leave your daughter with someone. I think if you are lonely, then maybe it would be nice to go out once in awhile. Just as long as you put your daughter as first priority then go forit. it's good also to let your daughter be with someone for a few hours so she adjust knowing that she can be without her mommy for a few hours. For myself, I wasn't ready to date, I'm stillwary, and my daughter is 9 months old. I just didn't want to miss out on everything.

It's tough to get out there; I live with my parents (again) so I know I can trust her gramma! I'm not planning to have *** again for a while, mostly because it took me 2 1/2 yrs after my son was born to be able to enjoy it again!
