How do you ever know when you are ready to go out in to the big "dating scene" again??? I have been single for a bit over 3 years now and actualy agreed to go out on a dinner date. But.....I just still have this funny feeling in my stomach that is wanting to hold me back...is there something wrong with me? I always want to come up with excuses not to see anyone...... :cupid:

Well, you could go out to dinner on just a friends basis and see what happens. Don't go thinking this a romance thing is all.

Ah, me too. I really am thinking that sooner or later you just have to take the plunge and that is the only way to find out if you are truly ready.... I haven't plunged yet, the water seems too rough still!

Thanks guys...but the of the whole romance thing is not even an issue...i just need to get the nerves together enough to even do the dinner/friends thing....

as u go out on more and more dates it does get easier... so take the plunge and go out on the date... don't have any expectations as to what might happen.. just go out and enjoy the company of the other person and have fun.... like i said the weird feelings will go away eventually but u have to make yourself go out... i was very nervous going out on my first date after 11 years, so i know where u are coming from... i was lucky my second first date was with a wonderful man who i am still dating... he is my prince charming and treats me like a princess...

you will never know til you try. I don't think there is a right time. Think of it as the chance for adult conversation, a night out, and just a small bit of time for yourself to escape. If it is a bust then you can decide to put of dating longer. It isn't an easy step, but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained.

This is all fine and well, now I just need to figure out how to get asked out on a dateLOL! Ok so I won't put much thought into it. I'm not planning further than the local icecream shop's big opening on Friday..... not sure who is more excited, me or my girls. That's a date, is it not?
