Ok, so I had a date with my ex (not Addies dad but the guy before him) this past Saturday. We were together for a little over 4 years and I left him because he was WAY too immature and had a bad drinking problem. We've had our ups and downs but I really do love him and he has an awesome family (his sister is still one of my best friends to this day and his mom has been supportive of my pregnancy and happy even though it isnt her sons) They truly love me. I know it hurts Eric that I am having someone elses baby but we weren't together and hadn't been for a year when I started seeing Bart. Eric checks on me all of the time, came to see me in the hospital and it just seems that he has really grown up. He took me to the FC Dallas soccer game last weekend, and acted like a complete gentleman. Not the old Eric that I knew. This weekend he took me to Texas Land and Cattle (a yummy yummy steakhouse Razzer) and then we went walking around the bass pro shop at the fish tanks full of fish. He opened doors for me, didn't have a single drink at dinner, and paid for dinner. Things he had never done before. I'm just kind of confused. I feel my feelings for him coming back but I don't know if it is because of Addie and the fact that I want to have a great family for her. I told him i'm not rushing into things because I don't know what is going on with my emotions right now and he understands. I just feel myself with a wall up. Is it a good thing to keep this wall up, or should I just go with the flow? Confused

Hmmm, I would stay guarded. What exactly did he say he wanted? If your best friend was pregnant and an ex started showing interest in her again, what would you advise her?

Well, he loves me and wants nothing but to be with me. He said he has been working on himself to try and make things better for us so that if I ever would take him back he could be a better person for me is what he says. It's funny that you ask what would I do if my best friend was pregnant and wanted the same advice. lol She is pregnant (actually finding out what hers is today). We're about 3 weeks apart and she is trying to work things out with her husband that she has been seperated from for about a year. He is completely different though. I have been telling her to RUN! But that is because he is a very mean, coniving, and hateful person who makes her cry everyday.

People do deserve second chances especially if the changes you see are for real.
The fact that he is intersted and concerned for you when you're carrying someone elses child speaks well too.
Have you actually discussed this with him and what it would mean...ie being a caring loving father to this child.
I wouldn't hop on the bus real fast but doesn't hurt to explore.

Oh no Jen. It sounded so promising at first ... I don't know what happened but I can feel the disappointment already.

I'll be watching...
