Ok, I was joking around with a friend, who has recently asked me out on a date. I jokingly told him I needed him to complete an application process in order for me to date him.

To my surprise he agreed. He asked what I needed.

I didn't take him seriously, and made up a crazy list. I said I needed a resume, 3 character references, 2 professional references, 2 sexual references, a police check, a medical check, a credit score, and a 20 page application to be filled out and screened by a panel made up of an ex boyfriend, my father and my daughter's father.

He agreed. He said he'd have the rest for me in a couple of weeks, and to give him the application to fill out then.

So I'm stuck. I need 20 pages worth of questions to have him fill out.

So my question is: what do you need to know about a potential dating partner, in order to decide if he or she is worth dating? What did you wish you knew about your ex before you dated him/her? What questions would you put on this application?

Anything goes.

Both actually.

I'm just looking for ideas of questions to put on the application.

Oh I can see no good coming from posting a topic like this (aka Paul and Binarian). LOL j/k

I will seriously try to think of some questions this weekend. How fun! I've never thought of saying "i need you to fill out an application first." I do have a friend though that does background checks on all the guys in my life. She does it then tells me about it. I dont ask her to, I'm not that weird. So I dont give her their last name anymore. Smiler

Ok I still can't get over that he really wants to fill this application out. I think that really is saying something about him if he is going to take the time and do what you have asked. If you are really going to make this application, I would put some serious and joking around questions in it. If you both are going to put the time in to do this why not make it fun and have so good laughs.

I was totally shocked when he agreed. He even said he'll give me $10 as an "application fee"!

Lol, what a guy will do to impress a girl? I think this is the limit.

Ok, some potential questions that a couple of friends and I brainstormed:

Describe your mom, and your relationship to her.

Do you want children? If so, how many? If not, why not?

Is spanking an acceptable form of discipline? Why or why not?

Would you rather be rich than married?

Describe your potential midlife crisis.

What sports game/tv show is sacred to you, and must always be watched?

Bachelor party: strippers or no?

Any others? Hehe be creative.

Ok - first I have to say that any guy willing to complete the application in the first place is worth looking at....only word of advice on the questions is don't put anything on there YOU don't want to answer....he may turn it back on you and ask you to complete one too!

PS - Definately as to MEET his mom if you're serious about the whole thing! And meet her at her house! You see a whole lot more that way!

Good luck!

I've been waiting to post on purple Wink

If I don't know anything about him I'ld ask:

"Do you love your wife (girlfriend)"

If I want to find out quality:

"If you won the lotto (had three wishes), what would you do with it?"

If you want to put him on the spot:

Get two notepads and two crayons. Ask him to draw a portrait of you and you're gonna draw a portrait of him. They have to include all the body parts. LOL (this one is fun after a few drinks)

I have more ... so let me know

Okay this is really g&* I think but I thought we might get a good laugh out of it. This would be my immaturity coming out. If you want to just joke about the whole thing. Come up with a sentance that has only 20 letters in it. Print eash letter of each word on one page. There would be your 20 pages. But at the same time you might make a fool out of your self.

Sentence that I came up with was "The Application is a joke" 20 letters. I know I must not have much of a life...lol
