ok, i am one of those people who just throws myself totally in to whatever my goal is at that moment and let it consume me. amazing results in corporate america, in restoring a 130 year old house, in serving 5,000 meals a day, etc. but balance - um, no.

when my ex left for the 7th and final time i decided i would not stay home and cry one more tear, i'd get out and date and move on. i was on match.com, yahoo personals, christian cafe, plentyoffish.com, eharmony - basically if you were a single man with a computer within a 100 mile radius of me, you were on my radar.

so ray not being memorable is not so crazy. of course i cant say that to him, it would just be cruel.

howzabout this reply?
Hi Ray-
Thanks for the 'blast from the past' smile. I would love to have a witty response that ties in to back e-mails, but new computer = no old mail for me. Hmmmm... so what does the perfect gentleman do here? Forward me old e-mails perhaps? Not a bad idea. A new photo perhaps? Title to your car? Deed to your house? Power of Attorney? Too much you say - sigh - I suppose I can wait on the car <grin>
Have a nice day!
Laurie

You should also ask for a copy of his IE history list for the last 30 days...
As well as a DNA sample...
Sorry...but I'm still on the creepy wagon....
Again..If you had such a connection why don't you remember one stinking thing about him...nada...
Tell me....if you lost contact with me for a couple years would you remember me later....

Don't forget you have a child now...safety first...

Oh, I think he'll love that response! It will definitely get him to continue talking. He will eventually say something that will jog your memory and make him stand out.

oh i am with you there totally HB. i had not planned on dating anyone til she was 3 or 4 and I could be here for her waking hours, the after she went to sleep, hire a sitter for late dinners or movies.

But I find God often puts things in our path for a reason. I dont know. If I did agree to see him (extremely big IF) it would be a walk on the boardwalk- middle of the day - Faith in a stroller.

Did you not like my reply? I've not done this in 2 years now, so am a bit rusty. argh.

What bothers me is that you can't remember a single solitary thing about this guy...

Yeah, that is unusual. Nothing? Every guy you talked to knows how much you like the Odd Couple?

Have you tried googling him? If you have no recollection whatsoever, I'd be a little guarded in seeing him. He'd have to pass the smell test. Who knows what cons people are up to.

ok, not to be incredibly depressing... but well, in all fairness, i did lose a bunch of short term memory. i have a marble sized "growth" on my brain that is growing slowly enough that we (neurosurgeon and me) have decided the risk of operating (stroke, paralysis, death) is not worth taking. at the current rate it would be 20-30 years before it impaired me in any noticeable way (insert easy joke here - hey my brain is still growing - can you say the same thing???)

so if i only e-mailed him or only met him once it is not that likely that i would remember him out of dozens and dozens of potential suitors i tossed to the wolves back then. i do remember the e-mail address though.

i sent the e-mail, so we'll see... oi vey.
