You know..i'm really trying with this online personal ad stuff. I AM! But what is it with these guys who only give one word answers to everything and never ask any questions? Yet, they hang on the IM like it's an interesting conversation? If they don't want to talk, why do they IM me in the first place? It's annoying and the whole conversation is ME trying to start a conversation!

Once I wished for happiness,
a smile from just being,
a feeling of euphoria,
and to not need anyone to make me feel such things.

...A case of cheap beer appeared.

Razzer Ah ahaahahahahahha!

LOL! Well if this guy wanted to know what I was wearing, he sure didn't ask. I just changed my profile to read "if you are incappable of carrying on a conversation with more than one word answers, please don't respond. You will only annoy me." Yep..I sure did...i'm sick of this stupidity already.

if he did ask what you're wearing, just reply with "nothing." Then see if his answers will remain mono-syllabic LOL

LOL!!!!you're too funny! Totally don't blame you though....I gave up on the ads though....I don't know what it is! they were either asking way too much about ex/son or they wanted to know when I was going to quit smoking. Pahleazz! One of the (many) reasons why I got divorced was so I didn't have anyone dictating to me! Maybe I just forgot how the relationship/dating things go or just maybe it's been so long that I've technically single (7 yrs)......I've dated occassionally (about 4 times, longest lasting 4 months w/ old "FWB") but that obviously didn't work out.....

I spoke to a few (from online) on the phone and went out on a couple of dates...but they so lied about a lot of things...living arrangements, relationship status, etc.
One guy I met I thought was "normal" as it could get....until he decided to give me a few mushy cards, a dozen long stem roses and an 8x10 of himself for my b-day/v-day. All sounds sweet & innocent, except for the fact I only knew him for 2 weeks! Freaky! Another guy I met was a little off as well...We really hit it off on the phone...actually spoke for about a month before we met, hours on end, he made me laugh, understood the whole single parent thing and I thought it was a possiblity...until we met. He lied about about a few important things so I kicked him to the curb...got really bummed and quit on the sites. I figure, if I'm meant to end up with someone, he's going to have to just appear and have at it. Until then, I'll just have to be happy with my son, job, etc....;-)

God that sounds depressing....I hope I don't come off totally boring & cynical!!!!!!

I sooo understand your frustrations. When I have chatted, I actually have a seperate yahoo id so that they don't get an actual email address I check, or my name or anything. There are a lot of weirds on there but a few good ones sneak in too. Just gotta keep looking if it's what you really want. I have gotten tired of it too, but I've gotten to the place in my life that I've decided what I want and am going after it. No more sitting back for me. Oh I've also found that a big thing is I try and get info from them first. Nothing like discussing things and they have no opinion of their own. You might as well say you really want another baby, miss being pregnant and feeling them growing inside of you and they just say yeah me too. Like they can get pregnant or something lol. It's not something I'd like to admit to everyone but the last two guys I've dated I met online and they turned out to be great men. Just didn't work out. First one was amazing but we wanted different things out of life and were in such different places in life. And the second one, well it just didn't work out, but he's a great guy.

Okay enough of my ramblings....if you really are ready and want someone in your life, I hope you keep trying and just remember to laugh about the losers. Smiler

astarte,

What I think usually happens with alot of these men is that they are trying to get the attention of too many at the same time. They throw out a hook, enough to get you to respond and then they don't reply back...I find it not only frustrating but very rude.

When they would reply back which would be a day or so later, i wouldn't reply back. I figured that if someone has poor communications skills like that, I don't want to be involved.

LOL

Interesting...I have the EXACT SAME kind of experiences with women; which causes me to find myself time and time again asking...well why F' did you contact me, then?

Oh well.

Okay, perhaps I should not have used the word "men"..LOL I guess it is a universal and common communication problem on those dating sites.
