attracted to people more or less like your ex?


Since I have started dating off and on (nothing serious, and nothing even close to potential at this time) over the last 9 months, I have noticed that I am attracted to men that are complete opposite of my ex. Dont ask me what I saw in my ex in the first place- but he was so not what I am usually attracted to (and when I think about it, I dont think I ever was truely "attracted" to him...I think it was more the idea of A)what he portrayed himself to be and B)more about the idea of being in love, than actually being in love!) But now I find myself drawn to men that complete opposites of him- which is a good thing...

Good question...I find myself attracted to several guys that actually are just like him....well most.
I am so over that now! I dont want a guy with a criminal record! That was al I was atracted to and I think it was the "Good girl go bad" thing...not me

I guess I will always be attracted to men who are like my ex. He is successful and loving towards his family, and for the first part of our relationship, he treated me like a princess and really spoiled me. It was only when the problems arose that he showed a crack in his character. They say that adversity reveals character -- and that is what actually happened.

I guess the lesson I learned here is... I will just choose from among men who are already my friends. Because when I met my ex, he was a complete stranger... it was like magic when our eyes first met and then the romance died as quickly as it came.

Friendship, on the other hand, is built on a stronger foundation, that's why I said to myself I am off the dating scene for I will only consider those who are already within my circle of friends. And if a relationship develops from friendship, then I think it has a stronger foundation... and you can really say to yourself that you love this person, and that you accept him for who he is.

I find myself still attracted to the "bad boy" persona but not a real bad boy. I like someone who is on both sides.

My ex was a drug addict, lazy *** and I am definintely not attracted to that anymore. But I am still attracted to the casual dresser, blue eyes, really short hair and well built
