Okay, I am new here...and new back to the dating scene..and from what I have experienced so far, I am horrified. My son is 4 now (his dad and I haven't been officially together since a day after he was concieved) and I am to the point now that I really need to start taking care of my needs to..i.e. have a freaking social life (a little bit anyway). I have tried the online thing for a couple dates and the guy was creepy...another guy stood me up...

So my question is ...How do you date being a single parent?? There isn't much time for it with working full time ( i finished my master's degree a year ago), being a mom, and not having the extra money for sitters all the time....

I am afraid of continuing to only find creepy, guys who only want one thing...

advice...??? ideas??? it would be much appreciated...

This is something that also worries me. I really did not date before I got married (my Ex was the first guy I really dated). Of course it is not only the dating that is on my mind, but also what comes with it. My ex is the ONLY guy I have been with, if you know what I mean. Plus he did not want to do much (his philosophy was more quantity, no quality), so I know the basics, but that is it. I am afraid that I will go out with someone and decide to take it all the way and have run off because I was REALLY BAD. Big Grin OK, humor aside, how do you take it to that step? What is the dating edicate for determining STDs? Right now I would just settle on getting a social life, but I think I would date if it were at all available for me (I would actually have to get away from my kids, then actually be asked Wink).

Anyway, I have no advice or ideas myself, but I would like to congratulate you on getting your master's degree.
