I know what you mean Sarah. I will admit (as hard as it is) that a simple date and nothing else would be nice from time to time. It's just all the junk that comes along for the ride that I can't handle. I've actually been trying to get the courage to ask out a lady I had a relationship with many years ago. I won't go into specifics about how it all ended but I loved her very, very much. Once she was ready to give our relationship another try I was with Rob's mom and made the decision to stay the course I was on. She in turn got together with another guy and started a family. They have been divorced for a few years and I have often pondered what it would be like to be close to her again. I don't know. Anyways, Sarah, you are a beautiful young woman inside and out and I can't believe any decent single guy in his right mind wouldn't jump at the chance to go out with you. Dating is not my area of expertise so I'll hand this over to those better qualified.

I hear yah on the after first few dates though. I just dont like people that play games. The hard to get thing. I have a hard time reading people and I'm always afraid of overstepping boundaries and sometimes I misinterpret this as "well if he doesn't call me, why should I call him." I then ask myself questions like "if he doesn't call/write/etc then he must not be interested," or "what if I call and he's like 'why are you calling me.'"

Too much anxiety. Would it hurt for a guy to chase me for once instead of me chasing them? Geez.

Frankly, I'm starting to think there must be something wrong with the male population in that part of Michigan.

I don't think it's funny you're shy at all. Plenty of shy people out there and there's nothing wrong with it.
