Here in Alberta, at least. I think all over Canada, but don't quote me on that. A few monthes back, after my ex had phoned 11 times in one evening (drunk and demanding), my lawyer asked me if I had thought to tape the calls. When I said I thought that was inadmissable, he went on to tell me it's completely legal as long as one of the people participating in the conversation (in this case, me, of course) was aware of the recording. Had I known that monthes before, my fight today would be MUCH easier!

Just thought I'd pass that on; if you're unsure about the legality of it, don't assume it's useless. Besides, since I've been taping my conversations with him, I've realized (in retrospect) that I can sound a lot angrier than I intended to at the time!

Oh I imagine I would be surprised at how I really sound too. But I think it is great you found out, even if later in the game than would have been best!

This is true in Ontario as well. Third party recordings, that is one person recording the conversation of two others, are not admssable. But as long as one person is aware, it's admissable.

I dont know about that here in Ct. My daughters father has always been litigious. (I love that word) Even when I lived with him, he was always going to court for something. He taped convo's with this person who he was trying to sue at the time, but they told him it was inadmissable.
I know he tapes me when/if I call. Last time we went to court his g/f told my mom she should hear the tapes they have of me yelling. Yeah, and? Must mean he really pi$$ed me off. I'd like to hear what I sound like. It must have been years ago, because I dont call anymore, and if I do, then I am calm.
