I'm just wondering if anyone knows any secrets to getting help with prescriptions in Ontario! I tried Ontario Works only to be told I don't qualify because I live at home. I don't seem to qualify for anything! I don't make enough for "working Families" help. (I'm short like $500 annually, which is garbage)but I can't get social assistance becaue I get a whopping $80 a week EI which runs out pretty soon! I didn't file for child support because god knows you can't take blood from stone. I don't really know where to turn at this point! Prescriptions are outrageous!

I don't know if this can help but it's a starting point.

Thanks I'll definately look into it. It states high drug costs so I don't know if we're sick enough to apply but it's worth a shot! I have nothing to loose.

Go to any pharmacy and ask for the Trillium package and fill it out it takes about 2 weeks but they cover all the same as Ontario works. When ei runs out you will qualify for Ontario works and they will go after your ex for support.Apply for the trillium program asap.If it is an emergancy let trillium know with the 1 800 number after you apply they are pretty good rushing it thru.

Thank You very much! I just seemed to be running into dead ends! Hopefully this all works out. I don't want $$$ from my ex though. All the money in the world isn't worth him having visitation!

NRM, if you go onto Ontario Works you will have no choice but to go after him for support. They will not pay you money you should be recieving from him, I know all too well.

You can apply to legal aid, They will help you all you have to do is find a lawyer.

You are not a loser, I quit school when I was 161/2 when I was pregnant with my daughter. I returned back to school when I was 24(two yrs after my son was born and my ex left us)at the adult learning centre, I got my grade 12, then in 2003 I took a college course and graduated in 2004 with my Business and Accounting Clerk.

Just make sure you go back to school and get your education, it will be a great feeling to achieve that accomplishment (I know).
