You really gotta love the state of Texas, I do. I found an online list of the meals requested of prisoners on death row. Before you start to feel sorry for these scumbags, you can read their offender info..
Venison steak, baked potato, Lite beer & Camel cigarettes (Alcohol & tobacco prohibited by TDCJ policy)
But the one that takes the cake is from a man who broke into a woman's house, raped her, beat her with a lamp, stabbed her in the neck, and then shot her in the head... before robbing her and fleeing.

I do. I support it. BUT only if instead of paying for them to live in an institution for years prior to dying, that we pay for DNA testing to make sure we have the right person. I have this idea (maybe I am wrong) that many people on death row were not supposed to have been there. DNA testing costs a lot of money but al in all it owuld be less than cable TV, food and exercise equiptment does.

I think of Florida too. But it's funny how so many of the most violent crimes come from Texas.. You'ld think that people would consider the penalties before they commit crimes in Texas. I always remember Andrea Yates, and wasn't there a mother from Texas (might have been Okla) who cut the arms of her newborn daughter..
But I still believe that the rest of the country has learn alot from the Lone Star State..
But I digress, the list captured my attention (yes, I'm ADD), and I thought it was interesting..

I support it. But, being a southern woman, I understand the whole "Feed em well" then kill them. We can't help it. Our culture revolves around food. Even death.

Why would you order a "lite" beer? If you're going to die, you might as well try to order a Guiness draft.. I don't think Satan cares about your figure...

Hey fellow Texans. I'm a transplant from St. Louis, now in SA, TX. Anyone else from the Alamo city? Just joined. I'm a single mom. Feeling lonely, depressed, like a complete alien w/ my friends. Anyone remember the dinner party scenes from Bridget Jones' Diary? Yep, that was me tonight. Everything the couples said began w/ the pronoun "we". So tired of it. I feel like the only one. Made it a point to buy a house in a nice, family oriented neighborhood, so I guess I got what I paid for? No single parents for as far as the eye can see. Sorry I can't comment on the death penalty issue. Morally I believe it is wrong, but I'm sure, if someone hurt one of my children, my emotions would say otherwise. Anyway, I'm not there, so I won't comment further. Hope to hear from someone w/ friendly advice, or a fellow San Antonian.

i don't believe in the death penalty either even if it affected me personally. i think they should be forced to see a picture of the crime scene everyday for the rest of their lives until it drives them insane and then send them off to the looney bin and the nurses not be so generous with their medicine....lol
