Wow! this is the first thing I read when I logged in for the first time! I did not know that there were that many single moms in the Dallas area.
Well I am looking for friends.
Mainly someone to talk to that has gone through the bad parts of breaking up. I am in the start of what looks to be the divorce issue.
Not sure how to handle it.
Been married for 12 years which makes it even harder.
Really could use some help and a good ole friend.

Is there any chance you two will be able to work things out?

jaclynmarie, there are a couple of groups for single parents. Parents Without Partners has a Dallas and a Lewisville/Ft. Worth chapter. The pwp web site has a link to finding a chapter; I don't know much about it, but I'm meeting with two women from the Lewisville chapter tomorrow, and will join then. They seem to do a lot of different things - family activities, adult things, etc. It sounds like a good group.

www.meetup.com also has Single Parent groups. I'm a member of both the Ft Worth and the Arlington/Irving one. It's less formalized than Parents Without Partners (which requires proving single parent status), and I know you'd be welcome even before your baby is born. They are small groups; sometimes gatherings are just two or 3 moms (a couple of dads are in the groups, but haven't attended anything yet). We usually just meet for dinner and conversation, but as the groups grow we'll have a wider range of interests and be able to do more.

Hi there, I live in denton and I feel for you more than words can say. I use to live in Plano a few years ago. I use to go there to take my daughter to see her friend. She is 11 years old right now. I could use any friends I can get.
Really could use some help and a good ole friend. [/qb]

HI Ladyenglish,
Welcome! Sorry to hear about your car problems, but I know how you feel. How old is your child? I am a single mom of a 13 month old little boy. Feel free to jump in anywhere on this site. You'll find a lot of great people and a lot of people in the same situation as you. I think there are a good little group from the houston area. Again, Welcome!

Amy

Hello, I am from texas as well PlanoV8. My wife wanted a divorce and I didn't so I am dealing with it now. It is not easy by any means. I wish it were! But you are not alone. Plenty of people are around to help you and talk with.
