hi all. My son was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. The M.D's thought that he had it earlier in the year but ruled it out- they thought it was just a virus. Well, my son recently got very sick again and they finally did a bone marrow test and it is A.L.L. I'm scared but staying optimistic. A.L.L. is the most common form and the easiest to cure(?). My son stared Chemo two weeks ago and we recently found out that his body is responding to the chemo very well (thank God). I worry every day and every minute about him. I just went back to work today -which was very hard because I didn't want someone else taking care of him-but I need to pay the mortgage, food, medicine and hospital expenses. I'm doing o.k. it's amazing what one can handle when faced with extremely difficult circumstances. I would just like to ask if people can pray for him--for hime to recover completly and not be sick and in pain.Thank you.

I'm terribly sorry to hear that they think it is Leukemia. I am some what relieved to hear that you were finally given an answer to what was making your son sick. He certainly will be in my prayers and you as well to have the strength to make it through to the other side of this. We're all here if you need a shoulder.

Hi everyone thanks for your support-boy it has really been a rough time for us. Jase is doing o.k. but I feel like I'm loosing my mind at times. His father and I have been trying to work it out for the sake of Jase but it's not working too well. I feel overwhelmed with the medical expenses, bringing hime to the docter one sometimes twice a week and missing work. I get depressed sometimes because my son will have to have chemo for the next 3 and 1/2 years. I'm not interested in joining a support group for Leukemia because at this point I feel I will just become more neurotic worrying about my son. Well, he's crying gotta go. Thanks

Deb,

You know a support group actually might help. I thought that having a support group would not be for me when sierra had all her neuro stuff and then I found one that was online which was nice because I chose when to talk and when not to. It was more for a sounding board. This way i wasn't calling the doctor all the time when this and that happened. I usually went to the support group and was like this is happening has anyone else had this happen. Usually someone in the group had it happen and would tell me what they did. This was also good for those times I just wanted to vent about the whole situation and I couldn't to friends because they didn't truely understand what I was going through. Just my thought. Hope you all are well. I will try and give you a call one of these days when I have a chance.
