It looks like everyone is from The New York City Area. Is anyone from the adirondack Mountains, you know way up north by the north pole?

I'm from Long Island - but I went to Potsdam for college. Love it up there - even in the cold of January. Wink

I am about an hour and a half north of Lake George. We also used to go their school shopping every year. Do you remember Gaslight Village?

Plattsburgh is nice. I got to say, I really do miss the Adirondack region. Being stuck in suburban ****, aka Long Island, I miss the outdoors and the freedom of upstate New York.

But it's easier to find work down here, I must say.

Gaslight Village was an amusement park that opened up at night. We would hit The Great Escape first and then go to Gaslight Village at night. I was mesmerized by the Burlesque dancers. I wanted to be one when I grew up. Oh, our childhood dreams. Wait, I am only 35 I still have time to train. HAHA

No I have never been there. Is it still there? if so maybe I'll take the kids when we go this summer. We always go to great escapes and just love the little wild west ranch (not sure the name of it). Have you ever been to that. And of course the minnie ha-ha. I am about 1 1/2 to two hours from there(depending on how many potty breaks) lol

No Gaslight Village closed down years ago. I think the Wild West thing is Fronteir Town, if so, they closed down this year. The Enchanted Forest is a fun place also. If you are ever inclined, travel up further to Lake Placid and take the kids to Santa's Workshop. This is where I lived from 5 on.
If you do let me know and maybe we could meet up. I think my son is close to your children's age.

Yes the wild west was closed this year ..the kids wereso disappointed . I was told it was local politics and wold most likley reopen again. I hope so. The camp ground we always stay at is right next to there and magic forest. We will have to talk in the ummer about possibilities of going alittle closer to where you are.

There is no hope of reopening-they sold the land and parceled it out to numerous investors. My sister also lives and owns a hair salon/spa in Saratoga Springs so I spend many weekends there in the summer (she has a pool!) So maybe we can meet up.

Thats really too bad. There aren't many nice little family orientated places like that left Frowner. I will definatley let you know when we make our reservations. It would be great to get together.

I live in saratoga springs but practically grew up in bolton. My grandperents had a camp there and I was there every weekend. I make it a point to go to the high peaks region at least once a year to hike and camp. I am more familiar to the Lake George region though.

Great, maybe we can start an "adirondack Club". The more the merrier. I need to get down to Saratoga soon-time for a haircut from my sister.
