I have been a member of this site for two days. It is so nice to be able to help others with their, uh, challenges. It makes me feel extra special. I have two beautiful children from an interracial marriage and am so lonely for adult conversation. I want male friends also, but not for romance at this time. Just to kick it, hang out.

Do you have any pictures of your kids you can post? I bet they're adorable..

Welcome Ginapet.. As a transplanted So Cal native now in No Cal, I can understand how you are feeling. I get down South about once every few months or so.

This place is awesome. So many people who have welcomed me and others and are just here to support. As a man with an 8 year old reading other perspectives has definitely opened my eyes.

Hi Ruth. My life really sucks right now. I have a great friend (girl) who I go to dinner with one night a month. She's so much fun, but she's not a mom, and although she's a great listener and very sympathetic...I want someone to identify with me when I say, "I'm scared being a single mom, etc.," I think you know what I mean. Hey Ginapet. Welcome (a little late) to the site. I too have bi-cultural children and have been a single parent for 6.5 years.I have never been scared but I have been frustrated, angry, resentful, happy, excited, irritated, anxious, relieved, sad, and joyful many times during this ride. I can't totally relate because I live right near and with family but I do understand (as we all do here) the struggles you can go through. Be encouraged and know we are here for ya!

I'm in Lakewood (waves) and I'm scared daily, and angry. and pretty much all of those feelings PITA has...
