"Faith is sooo yummy!" At A loss for Words - NOT! ![]() |
Please send good thoughts toward NJ this morning. I was assaulted when I was 16 weeks pregnant - kicked in the stomach AFTER I told her I was pregnant. Hence damaged placenta and 4 pound preemie. Court is in 45 minutes - I am trying to get her locked up! For those of you who pray....
If you think you can, or you think you cant - you are right. |

You have the spelling of the word correct oh wise one but perhaps she is a little off on the usage. It should be collage or photomantage. May I draw your attention to this.... Montage (from the French for "putting together") most often refers to "collage" including "photomontage" and sound collage. Montage is a technique in film editing that can refer to: a montage sequence, a segment which uses rapid editing, special effects and music to present compressed narrative information AND............. A collage (From the French: coller, to glue) is a work of formal art, primarily in the visual arts, made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. Use of this technique made its dramatic appearance among oil paintings in the early 20th century as an art form of groundbreaking novelty. An artistic collage work may include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or hand-made papers, portions of other artwork, photographs, and such, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. OR...she could have just said..."Nice pics Paul" And that class ends our lesson in the proper use of the english...or in this case french...language... RECESS.......... |

ok, so I check the paper and feel victimized all over again. The story is here
It states that I was found not guilty and all the witnesses agreed with me. However, it slams me that the judge said I was hostile toward her - hostile was not his statement 'defensive of my own dogs' was. Then it lists HER accusations - all which were proved untrue!! But it puts them in the paper and calls me a crazy woman? WTF? I was just assaulted by a newspaper article! If you think you can, or you think you cant - you are right. |

oops sorry
Woman guilty of assault in fight over ‘slobbering’ dog By Brian O'Keefe A Bloomfield woman was fined $1,006 and ordered to attend an anger management program, after being found guilty yesterday of assaulting the owner of the Evergreen Inn in Spring Lake Heights last July. Belmar Municipal Court Judge Dennis Lavender said he believed beyond a reasonable doubt that Sonja Bateman, 31, had punched and kicked inn owner Laurie C, 43, on July 4, 2007, after they had a heated conversation regarding an interaction between their dogs. The trial had been transferred to Belmar after Spring Lake Heights Municipal Court Judge George C. Pappas recused himself because he knows Ms. C. He had married her to her former husband, Spring Lake Heights Police Chief Mark S, who she has since divorced. Because her last name was still S at the time of the incident, that name was used during court proceedings. “I don’t think Ms. [C] is all that innocent in this matter, either,” Judge Lavender remarked. He said he believed she was hostile toward Ms. Bateman and that the conversation between the two women that escalated into violence was not “a pleasant conversation.” Nevertheless, he found Ms. C not guilty of the three charges that were filed against her by Ms. Bateman. The charges were assault, disorderly conduct and owning a vicious dog. According to Ms. Bateman, she had been walking her dog, Buddy, a terrier, past the inn on the previous day when one of Ms. C’s dogs, Spanky, a German shepherd mix, salivated on Buddy’s neck. Ms. Bateman testified that she was unhappy about that because she likes to keep Buddy clean because he sleeps with her at night. On the day of the altercation between the women, Ms. Bateman was walking Buddy past the inn again and saw Ms. C. She informed Ms. C that Spanky had bitten or salivated on Buddy’s neck. A verbal confrontation ensued when Ms. C said her dogs do not bite. Judge Lavender said the testimony of two witnesses, Spring Lake resident Paul Mackey and Spring Lake Heights resident Nicholas Perone, was very credible and indicated that Ms. Bateman had punched and kicked Ms. C. He noted that neither witness said they saw Ms. C hit Ms. Bateman, as Ms. Bateman had alleged. Ms. C was pregnant at the time. Ms. C had asked Belmar Municipal Court Judge Dennis Lavender to imprison Ms. Bateman, but Judge Lavender said that would not be an appropriate sentence. “I’d love for her to be locked up,” Ms. C told the judge. “My life changed that day … I am terrified in my own home.” She added that she has put the inn on the real estate market, saying, “I want out.” Judge Lavender said the fact that such an incident came before the court is “really a sad commentary,” considering that the country is at war and soldiers are dying. The allegation that Spanky is a vicious dog was not supported, said Judge Lavender, because “slobbering all over” another dog indicates “affection, maybe unwanted,” rather than an attack. Ms. C testified that Ms. Bateman was punching her in the head so forcefully that she felt like “a human Pez container.” Ms. C said she was 16 weeks pregnant at the time, and she testified that when she told Ms. Bateman that, Ms. Bateman began kicking her in the stomach. Ms. Bateman denied punching or kicking Ms. C at all, and said she did not learn she was pregnant until Ms. C “announced” it to a group of bystanders that had assembled after the altercation took place. Ms. Bateman testified that Ms. C slapped her in the face, knocking off her glasses. Ms. C then hit her on the arm with a notebook, Ms. Bateman testified. Ms. Bateman admitted grabbing Ms. C by the hair when she tried to enter the inn, but she said that was because she was afraid Ms. C was going inside to get a weapon, and she wanted to prevent her from doing so. Judge Lavender said Ms. Bateman’s admission of pulling Ms. C’s hair was in fact an admission that she had assaulted her. Ms. Bateman testified that after Ms. C had hit her, Ms. C suddenly began screaming “call 9-1-1” and saying Ms. Bateman had assaulted her. Ms. Bateman said she believed the inn owner began enacting a “drama” when she saw people were watching. She called Ms. C a “crazy woman” for saying she had struck her when the reverse had actually happened. If you think you can, or you think you cant - you are right. |

Nothing wrong with your age, I'd say. Wanna swap?
After reading the article I have to wonder, are the Judges elected down there? Half the time he sounded more like her defense attorney than the judge in the case. Like this:
And wtf with this? . Is he running for office? This clown is rather unprofessional in my opinion.

I KNOW!!!!! he never called me hostile though - notice no quote marks. He said I was probably defensive of my dogs. There were allegations that I would get favorable treatment because my EX was a police chief. EX!!!! So they were really hard on me. But you read that article and I dont sound like the total victim I was. In court it was much clearer told her she should be ashamed of herself. ugh!!!! If you think you can, or you think you cant - you are right. |

So the paper misrepresented the Judges remarks? In a way that'd make me feel better, the judicial system is supposed to at least appear un-biased....
