I want to first say about email from this SPN. Do Not open any attachments. I only send in text and no pictures or attachments. If you get any that have pictures or attachments, delete it.
Anyway�

When we put are minds to it we, no matter who we are � single mom or single dad, can do it. As I look over my single parent experience, I see the many stages I have passed through. Moreover, sometimes go through them again. I hope that everyone see the benefit of Single Family Voice as an archive. If one goes over the old questions and the new, spanning now over a decade of questions and answers, one can see not much has changed. We can make change, though small, they are a change for the better if we start with our own lives. The first step for a positive change is by giving another compastion for their situation.

I hope these simple written words I write can communicate the warmth I feel as I read over our discussions at Single Family Voice and the warmth and compassion that everyone shares with each other. I can not stress how each and everyone together has made Single Parents Network, not only a great informational resource for others, but also a comfortable place in which to support, share and open up.

9.) Relationships and the Single Parent:

As I talk with other single parents, one of the main questions are� when do I let who I am dating meet my kids?
And in my personal observations and experiences I can say� Only when it is serious.
So the real question comes back to even before we had kids. When is it serious?
I have always held to the thought of when two people have committed themselves to each other. An exchange of rings is a pretty good sign.

If one does let the kids meet the dating partner, then I as a parent keep it casual, no hugging, kissing or anything else one would not do with ones sibling. And keep their contact very limited. Kids do not need to see many different intimate partners floating in and out of our lives. It is not mentally healthy, and it is very confusing to a child.
