As I am getting through finals in school, again, and I have, now, made myself sit still enough to write another newsletter. Yes, it does seem to be ever 6 months or so that I put one out. I realized as I go through our link directory how many single parent sites do not exist anymore. And� well� those that still do are infiltrated with ads to buy this or buy that. I sometime think, if I did that I could end up putting money in my pocket and buying something so needed� However, I then come back to our site, and, well, it has, and does have a life all its own now, like a child. Our site was once just a wish, a wish that I could find straightforward information to help me see the path ahead, even for just a glimpse. �Cause the unknown is so much, more, scarier than an expectation and well, here I sit.

Periodically I just steer at a blank page, knowing I need to communicate, what is going on. To answer the question� so much, too much, and such an amount that I do not have the luxury to sit each month to write a newsletter, however there are going to be two big changes coming soon. One area will be improved and another will be created.
Anyway, I use the term �our site� because that is what it is. I will not sternly control the members to the point of threats to ban though in 8 year we had to ban 9 people. Not a bad number for an open public forum, by no means. But, that is because we have, and I am not sure how to stress this in writing, the best group of caring, giving, supportive, yet strong willed people I have ever had the pleasure to know. And the site is the way it is because of you and yea� me too.

You can be a lurker here; you do not need to be a member to see that you are not alone. To me that is a priceless gift to give someone that is lost, confused, not sure what is going to happen next in one life. All you members that are active and open and share are not only contributing to your own health in a positive way but making a change in the life of someone else. In addition, yes, Ex.�s maybe on the board and reading and yet, in a way we are helping them too. The seed, a seed is planted; the beginning to understanding, to compassion, appreciation, and comprehension.

Now with that said, I cannot stress the safety it is to use PM, to Not post your real email, to Not, use or to, name names. This is for your safety, and for respect of another. I created this site for what I wanted, needed and with trial and error, wisdom for our safety and to have control over it.

Parenting book by parent / child relationship expert helps parents with discipline, step parenting & blended family issues. Through our link if you scroll down to the bottom of the site you can read parts of chapters of her book. I like reading her book because it gives many different types of parenting and I could select what applies to my situation goals and background. She will also include 2 other books. One that I absolutely LOVE is �Knowing My Rights� in regards to my children schooling. This is something the schools want tell you and as a single parent, this is clear cut and right to the point. I listed a few books that are next to nothing for their Titles. For example, 20 dollar books are being sold for 1 dollar or 3, you can not beat the price. If you see the picture of the book that means it is available for a really GREAT price.

10.) Relationships and the Single Parent:

As I talk with other single parents, one of the main questions are� when do I let who I am dating meet my kids?
And in my personal observations and experiences I can say� Only when it is serious.
So the real question comes back to even before we had kids. When is it serious?
I have always held to the thought of when two people have committed themselves to each other. An exchange of rings is a pretty good sign.

If one does let the kids meet the dating partner, then I as a parent keep it casual, no hugging, kissing or anything else one would not do with ones sibling. And keep their contact very limited. Kids do not need to see many different intimate partners floating in and out of our lives. It is not mentally healthy, and it is very confusing to a child.
