Hi. I'm new to the board and was wondering what kind of visitation arrangements does everyone have? I am a single mother with a daughter who is almost three and my ex. takes her every other Saturday from 9 am - 7 pm. He is actually arguing the 7 pm and wants to bring her back at 3 pm but told me he'd "try". No holidays unless I ask him if he wants to see her, no weeks in the summer, just this every other Saturday deal and not one single overnight. Is this the normal or is he neglecting her?
Sorry so long! I'd appreciate anyones opinion here! Thanks! |

Of course for a forum such as this you will get a wide variety of answers. In my case, my daughter's mom really does not do visitation. Once in a blue moon she will call, and in even a more exact shade of blue moon she might visit.
I believe the "norm", court appointed visitation is other weekend, Friday night to Sunday afternoon. A couple weeks during the summer. Alternating holidays. |

Hello!
I am not sure if it is specific to the state I live in... but here in WA.... Visitation is granted 1st and 3rd weekends... friday, saturday and Sunday and typically a 'just dinner' evening like Wednesdays from 4-7pm. This is different from my own situation however. But I believe that to be the standard issue parenting plan here. So- you ex is 'missing' time with your little one. Just an fyi.... but everyone is different. |

It does not seem normal. Check out a website for regular visitation in your state. There is a standard one. It sounds like he really doesn't want to spend that much time with her(loser). Find the standard times and threaten him with getting that passed. He might straigten up. Some poeple do not like it when you make them do something. He will either agree to your terms and get involved or you can get a court order to deide when you want his visitation to be. Just make sure you make it regular so that she gets a routine.
