I am New to SFV |
Hello..This is my first time on.... My son is 14 years old . He now wants to live with his father. My ex was abusive in our marriage. So I left with my son 7 years ago. We have had a painful chaotic 7 years. As my ex has caused as many problems as he could for myself. I have been the best mom that I could be under the circumstances. I now must submit a statement to my son' attorney. My feelings about my son and being his mother. At first it sounded easy. But I am having dificulty expressing what a mother truly feels for a child in writing. I am sure because my emotions are that of devastation right now.. If anyone could help me with words to write it would be greatly appreciated...........Thankyou again.

First let me say welcome!
What is it you have to write? Why do you need to write this up? What is the purpose of the letter? I think if you could give us a little more detail someone may be able to help you out. Wnat kind of contact has your son had with his father over the years. What is there relationship like? I think if you can give us a little more information someone might be able to give you some suggestions. I am sorry for your situation. It sounds like it is a very difficult time for you right now. Welcome to the forum. Hopefully you have a little bit of time to write this.
While I don't know the words to give you I can only suggest that you do take this on just like an assignment from school days. A rough outline, the major points you want to make. A rough draft that you can read through and change as needed. By then you should be able to put together a final letter that will cover the things you want in there and have it together pretty well. And if they are asking for the statement to be about your son and you as his mother....be careful how much you add in there about the father or at least how it is all worded. Judges typically don't want to read emotion stuff like how you FEEL about his father. Keep that part tidy and FACTUAL. |
