"escalators can never break. They can only become stairs.." Setting New Standards |
My little sister is 17, due in Dec. Her and her 18yo husband have been living with me, so money has been kinda tight.
She went garage saleing and pick up a whole lot of used Onsies for the new baby. They had formula and poo-poo stains on them, she asked me is I could bleach them out. I had to tell her they were there to stay. She was kinda bummed, said OK. Today I was at Wal-Mart in the fabric section. I found a tie-dye kit for $10. I brought it home, and she absolutely freaked out! So she spent her whole afternoon with 2 friends at the kitchen table rubber-banding little baby clothes. Tomorrow we get to untie them and see how she did. Hopefully we'll have beautiful new looking new clothes!! Jack even helped her, HE MADE A MESS OUT OF HIMSELF! But he had fun too, and he was included in doing something nice for the new baby. |

That sounds like alot of fun. Almost like dying Easter eggs! Ty painted a couple of pictures at the kitchen table today. Thank God for washable paint. He had it everywhere, but he had fun and was so proud of himself. Isn't it nice to let them get messy sometimes?

Do you know they make washable crayons now??
I remember what my best friend Dusti told me once. "Thank God kids are washable!" |

I didn't know they had washable crayons, but they have the markers that won't write on anything other than special paper from Crayola. You would think that w/all the art supplies I buy, I would have seen the washable crayons.
Ty is my little artist. I can't draw a straight line w/a straight edge. Sad, I know, that is why I'm glad he inherited that quality from his father. I have to say that I agree w/Dusti. I would be in trouble if they weren't washable!!! |

OH!! The Color Wonder markers!! I love those!! My carpet loves those!!
If I buy one of those books for Jack, he will sit down all by himself and color the entire thing. In one sitting.. Two hours of peace and quiet. Jack loves to draw and color too. It's the only thing that will keep him busy. If I give him a notebook and a pair of scissors and a roll of scotch tape he'll sit on the floor and talk to himself and create masterpieces all evening. But I can't throw anything that he draws away. I have to save everything! Right now I have rented a 400 square foot storage garage just for his drawings, and had to buy 6 more refrigerators to keep up. Heh, heh. |

lol. Ty has turned his playroom into an art gallery by taping his masterpieces to the wall. He's got paint, pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, tape, construction paper, tracing paper and doodle pads everywhere. One of the good things I can say about his father is that he was an amazing artist. I saw some of his pieces when we were dating. His mom had them framed at her home. I didn't know they were his until he proved it by the signature at the bottom. I'm really glad that Ty has his artistic ability.
I don't thow any of his drawings away either. I have several 30 gallon buckets for them. When one bucket gets full, I buy another one. I'm glad I was never told that kids are cheap! Hahahaha! |
