Just looking for some help for my daughters 9th birthday party. Usually we have it at the park and have over 30 guests well this year due to finances I need to tone it down I want to keep the cost under 50. Anyone have any good ideas? I live in a little 1 bedroom house and dont have tons of space but want to make it cute for her.

Why not still have the party at the park? You can play lots of fun games like water baloon toss, watermelon seed spitting contest, pinata, treasure hunt. Try this: Take a paper plate and put a peice of bubble gume on it, cover the gum with whipped cream...each child stands in front of a plate... the 1st person to eat thru the cream, get the gum and blow a bubble wins a prize, you can use a cookie in place of the gum, the 1st one done eating the cookie wins. (get cheap prizes at the dollar store).

Make your own cake, if there is a nickelodean or Disney character that she likes buy a figurene of that character and put it on the cake. Decorate the cake with curled ribbon that can be taken off before eating.

Google, "birthday party ideas for a 9 year old girl" you would be amazed with what you can come up with.

Have fun!!! Smiler

I know parties get expensive! If you wanna keep it under 50-why not have a sleepover? You don't need to spend a lot-some pizza, cake, movies and maybe have the girls do make-overs and hair styles on each other? They can have a camp out in the living room or the bedroom...with kids you don't really need a lot to impress them. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the ideas, I think we are going to have cake ice cream and pizza with a few of her friends and then her best friend is going to spend the night. she is such a big girl she said Mommie I know money is tight so lets just do something simple easy I don't care what we do as long as I am with you thats enough for me.

Mashell...the idea with the whipped cream and gum is genius. I absolutely have to remember that for my daughters birthday next year. However, it's in February and I'm convinced raising this child on my own is putting me into early senility!
