Binta and I have attended the Home Depot Kids' Workshops several times, and I wanted to make sure you guys knew about this really cool (and totally FREE) activity!

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Cont...0051&catalogId=10053

The first Saturday of every month (yeah last Saturday, sorry I'm late posting this) they have a FREE workshop for kids. The kids build things like pencil boxes, birdhouses, piggy banks, etc. The kids even get their own super-cool orange Home Depot apron!

You want to show up early, because they do run out of kits, due to how popular these events are. The directions with the kits are really clear, the staff is very friendly, and did I mention it's FREE! lol

I love free stuff...

Free is just about affordable Smiler
What's funny is Home Depot is my home away from home, you know that place where everybody knows your name....and I crack up when someone new is hired as cashier and they ask me for ID Big Grin
Anyway, I didn't know they did this for kids, I only knew that they had different workshops on occasion for the homeowner....tile installation, painting, plumbing.. whatever all they teach.
But this is too cool that they do this for this kids Smiler

Lil B and I did this once when he was younger. It was really cool! Bobby made and painted a birdhouse, and then gave it to his mother. The apron was a great gift too. It's locked away in a memory chest now...

They also have workshops for Woman...People like me who have trouble changing a light bulb. I have never been able to go because:
A. closest home depot is 50 miles away and
B. I work every Saturday

I am so in trouble when I become a home owner next month!!!

Don, do you make long, long distance house calls???
