.. a "Games" or a "Just for Fun" forum so we're not always flooding the Open Forum. They're fun to read and participate in but when we're looking for something specific, it's hard sorting through the forum when there are so many jokes or games or 'thought of the day', etc.

I dont think it matters if you put a section up or not for "fun." This forum is about fun, humor, getting advice (and it is given). People on here are all adults and know when to be serious and when not to be, yes I know some of us, myself included, have a hard time sometimes being serious but I think that's just part of the many personalities.

I can understand wanting members to tone down certain subjects and that's understandable.

I do see new members on a daily basis though. I dont think that our posts and such are causing "bad" issues with the forum. Sometimes we just have some people who are touchy and whatnot but you will get that anywhere.

Well the fun definitely has an audience which is why I suggested to have it's own forum. I like reading the games and jokes .. it lifts my moods sometimes. I also think it floods the open forum a lot.

I'm not some of us who are so used to the Open Forum would even think to look elsewhere. We're all so used to logging in there for almost everything, we might move on to another forum for awhile but we'll all end up right back in the Open Forum.

Being the way I am here is how I am and life is too damn short to be serious all the time. This place gets an over abundance of sadness pain and depressing stories. Some days it actually gets to be almost unbearable but this is one of the reasons this place is here. We all have our ways about us and we all have our way of helping or dealing with those who come here for advice and support. Perhaps my purpose here IS to add some humor and to allow those who are sad and depressed to step away form that sadness for a moment and catch their breath. Weather some don't understand it or like it I hear on an almost daily basis "thanks HB I really needed a laugh today"...no matter what the topic was.

I'm also rather blunt and to the point as I really don't beleive in beating around the bush and thats not a bad thing either and some times people need that to see their situation more clearly....
Another thing I hear quite often from a recent post "HB, you hit the nail pretty much on the head. I'm amazed at how often you are spot on with things, and can cut right to the chase."

I have also on many occasions turned or prevented what was becoming a hot or stressful thread from getting worse by injecting some stupid nonsense to lighten the mood.

Do I push the envelope at times...yes I'm sure I do but I also am intelligent enough and have enough tact to know when to be more serious with an issue....and I do that as well here. Weather in the open forum or behind the scenes I have helped people here and made some awesome friends and I did so by way of humor and lightening the mood. So like I said..perhaps MY purpose here is to add some humor and give a break from the sadness and turmoil a lot us go through in life.

My point is this in regard to this suggestion: I yam what I yam and I do what I do and you can create a FUN area if you like...however I personally will not stop from being myself in whatever thread comes along. And I won't ignore a thread because it doesn't happen to be in the FUN area. This whole forum is the FUN area to me and I gotta be me. If and when my personality no longer fits or is no longer welcome here I'm certain Don and/or Robin will let me know that and I'll move on...till then this is SFV "The Fun Ship" to me....

Besides....you can't contain me....I'm a rebel without a pause.....Mamma warned you...

I'll admit that this forum is getting a big "sloppy" and when I'm done catching up from the recent daughter/hospital situation and trying to catch up my business stuff I'll try to move some posts around to there proper forums.
We do have Major Members Chat that should be the forum for such frivolity

And yes Open Discussions is kind of a catch all when people aren't sure where to post certain topics, that's usually the forum that needs the most rearranging after a while.

So.....we have a few days left to finish trashing the joint...okey dokey...

Don, not to grip, but does this forum have a spell check add on??? As you can tell, some of us(me) are spelling challenged.

I haven't even noticed any spelling issues that you may have Paul.

If I have issues with a certain word I will look it up for the most part, or hyjack a spell check from another place I go to.

Paul has a very good point here...one I have thought of every time I post something here...
I do the same thing.....I keep a talking dictionary loaded in the background...
Most of it is just me...its not that I can't spell but that my hands get tired after holding cameras all day...
Once I mistype somthing then I second guess if its spelled right
A spell check here would be great....

And a couple other helpful additions would be....
A built in tap for a keg....
A bathtub for the chat room.....
