Hi all,

I am new to the site but already love it from all the postings that I have read. I am a single mom of a really active 2 and half yr old son, working full time and doing my graduate studies part time. I love this site b/c I am see lots of single dads and it is sooo weird that they have the same issues as us single moms!! After two years of court room drama my life has taken on some measure of calm. Lokking forward to chatting (and venting ) with you all.

I totally agree. This is by far the best website I have ever visited. Smiler I too am new and was surprised to read about all the single dads going through everything single moms go through. At least we know single parenthood doesn't discriminate. It can happen to both genders alike. Ever since I started on this website, I feel a weight lifted off of me about my feelings of solitude. And the everyday struggles.
Welcome and lift all your burdens.

Hello to all

New to the site. Soon to be a single dad. You know I feel like I have raised my 4 kids (2 are adults now) without much help from mom. So I suppose I am pretty confident in raising them. The hard part is since the divorce has been filed just a day now mom has yet to move. I think when she does it is going to devestate my daughter (10). And I am certain my 16 yr old (almost) wont care much for it either, though he did say he felt for a long time this was coming. For me, well being married 21 yrs and all is going to be somewhat of a shocker. I dont know what to expect. I cannot think straight at times but I know I have to for the well being of the kids. Any advice? Dont drink very often but thought about it a few times lately to get me through. I do have a job and bills to keep up with so I can't just st in a room and depressilate.

jeffrey b, welcome to the site. I sure you'll find lots of good people in here, it's truly a wonderful place to communicate with other parents in the same or similar shoes.

I would say, if you don't drink often, don't go starting now, haha. Just take all the new changes a day at a time, without trying to take it all on at once. Come here and gripe or share if need be. Plenty of good listeners and folks to share experiences with. I know that sometimes even if you see it coming, these things can still kinda blind side you.

Thanks Don I appreciate that. nd you can be sure I will do my share of griping. Certainly one should expect to be a shoulder to lean on as well and I am surely not opposed.
