I just want to put this out there... b/c it is such a rare occurance on here.

My ex, warren, has been really great these past couple of days! He came over yesterday and really stepped in with tobi. He put his foot down and stuck to his guns when tobi was doing one of his tantrums. We all ran out to Costco and then treated us to dinner. Even put tobi to bed, which took an hour.

Then offered to come back by today! All so I could study for my exams! He took tobi out and when back to Costco b/c apparently when we were there he spotted lobster ravioli (and he knows i drool over the stuff) and had wanted to surprise me. So the two of them returned and he cooked dinner here... He was still marvelous with tobi and got the brunt of another tantrum, but he controlled his temper and dealt with the situation (even though tobi had completely smacked him in the face).

I thanked him immensely and really hope this is going to be more the regular behaviour. b/c he can spend as much time over here as long as he is really interacting with his son

Wow. That is great. We should really celebrate the times that our exes act so nicely. Number one, it is encouraging for those who hope that one day their exes and they can get along. Number two, so often we can sound like all we do is complain. Don't get me wrong, we need to be able to complain but we should hopefully be able to apply the 10:2 ratio. For every 10 complaints there should be at least 2 good things to share.

I guess I do have to admit that since my ex's psycho gf took her kids and moved to GA in Feb, he's been actually decent to me and our kids. He's taken them for a visit twice in the past 6 weeks, which is more than he's done in the past year. He hasn't paid child support since March 1, but at least he's trying to take an interest in their lives for a change.
