"Though cotton uses only 3% of the world's cultivated land, it requires the use of 25% of all agricultural chemicals, including fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. These chemicals runoff into waterways creating "dead zones" in lakes and streams, and can leach into ground water causing "blue baby syndrome" in infants (most common in developing countries).
Cancer-causing chemicals.
Seven of the top fifteen pesticides used to grow cotton are considered human carcinogens, posing health risks to you and your family, as well as to those workers who cultivate and harvest cotton crops."

The things we don't think of.

Oh gosh...I just had to finish reading the article....

"Dye resistance.
Since cotton is resistant to dyes, nearly half the colour-altering chemicals applied to it end up as waste in rivers and soil.
Convenience features?
Cotton fabric products are often sprayed with a wrinkle-resistant chemical finish (most likely formaldehyde, a suspected carcinogen) which can off-gas, causing unpleasant health problems.
Unnatural fibres.
Fabrics made of polyester, acrylic, and other synthetic fibres are usually composed of petroleum by-products - a non-renewable resource. Because of their lung-damaging pollutants released during production, such as carbon monoxide, heavy metals, nitrogen and sulfur oxides, and particulates, those working to produce these materials often suffer with health problems."

LMAO! good idea Big Grin

goodness Miranda, where do you get such things. We may as well hinder the production of oil because when burned by vehicles it pollutes the environment and produces carbon monoxide that can slowly kill us. So let's stop oil production and just use our feet to travel!!

...duh..Confused

You know they now make clothing, flooring and houses out of bamboo now. And they are starting to grow it in the US because the shipping across seas is too much on the environment. So pretty soon we will start to find bamboo clothing, which holds color stain very well and is durable. Smiler

So what you are saying is that if I don't put out on a first date then I don't get another one? That's cheap! If I was dating that kind of person, then he's obviously too shallow to have a real relationship with anyway. So it would be no loss to me.
