I thought my student loans were going to take my entire tax refund - they're NOT!! I just found out I'm getting most of it back and it'll be here Friday!! I can pay off the minivan I got last weekend from my friend!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!

Heh... I'd be all for changing the landscape here. Unfortunately, all but $500 of it is earmarked for bills and paying off the van... and the last $500 is earmarked for saving to move OUT OF OKLAHOMA!!
I've tried to escape this state so many times in my life, but it seems like everytime I leave, something bad happens and I end up having to come back - not by choice. So jealous.... My entire refund went to student loans, and I still had to pay another $43.20 to finish them off. But it does feel nice to not have to worry about them. And now that they are not in default, I can get even more federal student loans for law school!! (This fall--just got the acceptance letter from my first choice school--yippee!) |

THEY LIED. Point blank.
After I waited for the direct deposit for 2 days, I got a letter in the mail - the $5120.45 I was expecting to hit the bank was diverted to the US Dept of Ed after all. It said on the IRS website it was scheduled for deposit. I guess they lied.
