Hi, It's been a few months since I've typed but it's great to be back! I have been on the journey of a lifetime the past few months! The last time I left the site my irresponsible and horrible ex was taking me to court for shared custody of my son. It was every paent's worse nightmare and still is. I've been in and out of court, so many times! My last court date is August 9th(yeah!) My son's Dad has him every other weekend right now and is managing to avoid child support as much as possible. But as for the GOOD news!!!!!! I graduated college in May and have found a wonderful teaching job already! I just moved into my new townhouse with my son this week--away from my parents (and next door to my incredible boyfriend/best friend)---and it is awesome! I am so proud of how far I've come!
When I first found this site I thought I couldn't hit any lower than I was. Now I've seen so much and been through so much and I am proud to say I've made it. I'm just hoping that a scared young mother like I was might be reading and praying for some hope. I want to tell you that there is hope and that with a little faith and willpower even the most desperate situation can turn around if you want it bad enough Big Grin
Thanks for Listening!!!

Hi Jakesmommy,

I was wondering where you were.
Congratulations on your graduation and the job.
Same here, by the way, I have finally found a job, and life will be changing a lot now, with my new house, new job etc.

I wish you luck for Aug 9th.

Congrats Jakesmommy!!! It sounds like everything is working out for you.Your letter hit home with me,not because I'm in a similar place, but because that is exactly the place I want to end up.I want to go back to college as well,I'm working on that now, own my own home eventually-I now live with my mother--and meet a terrific guy to spend the rest of my life with.Someone that will be the best thing to ever happen to my son and myself.I'm 39 with a 9 year old son. Most of the time it seems like that is just an impossible dream, like things are never going to get any better for us at this stage in my life.Your letter showed me that is is possible and maybe I have a chance.Again,CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK.
