Over the past couple weeks I have been mourning a very special friend I've had since I was pregnant with Alex. My stand mixer. Laugh if you will but my mixer was very important to me...lol. Now I've been "cheating" on it in my imagination for a few years now. Drooling over the KitchenAid mixers (cobalt blue with all the attachments *sigh), dreaming of the wonderful things I could make with one but this is a loss everybody in this house (and a few other houses...lol) will be feeling for quite some time. Please everybody take a moment of silence for my friend and all the wonderful things we made together. *Sniff


Ok this was a lame attempt to lighten my mood in light of all the **** that's going on right now. Tracy has already been asking when I'll get another mixer so I can make another lemon cream cake and the kids are wondering how I'm going to make buttercream icing for birthday cakes and such. My blender broke about 2 weeks before that so my kitchen as been woefully quiet....LOL.

LMAO--You had me at the beginning, my heart sunk and I was feeling sorry for you--I have never had a mixer and stick to cupcakes since all my cakes fall apart, so you come to NY and teach me how to bake and i'll buy you a new mixer!!

LOL careful what you wish for!! Have you seen the price on those things? Baking is something I've loved since I was little girl, watching my granny in the kitchen. She was amazing in the kitchen and I've spent my adult life trying to emulate her. That woman's bread was a food group in and of itself and no matter how I try, mine will never be as good as her's. However, my homemade strawberry whipped cream beat her's hands down...LMAO!

When's the funeral? And should we send flowers? Or are you accepting donations to "Buy Amy a Mixer" fund?

Considering the severity of your emotional state over this mixer I'm concerned....
It makes one wonder if you had an after market attachment for this mixer that you're not disclosing...

LOL B-dude I'll eventually break down and get one at Walmart or something. The last one was a Walmart special and it survived for quite some time. I dream about KitchenAids the way you dream about tricked out Harley's....LOL.
