hi Amy.....while I don't know the background of your situation, having a social worker involved I guess is pretty serious. I can imagine as a mother you're always nervous about your kids, and this just makes it worse. Don't feel like what happened was SO wrong and that you put your chidren in harm's way. It happened in my family as well, that my 2yr old nephew walked out of our house and nobody saw him, police were called and it was 45 minutes until they found him in a neighbor's yard. That's why there's such things as "mistakes" or "accidents". We are not perfect. Just make sure you pick your head up and start over fresh. Kids make our heads spin all day, so each day will not go by with no mishaps ever occurring. It's normal. Take some time to think about it and realize that you love your kids and do all you can to protect them. I wish you the best.
