I'm planning on a family vacation after the lawsuit is over. I am thinking about taking Kayley and I to Disneyland or DisneyWorld, since its been an emotional rollar coaster. A couple of friends think I should wait to take Kayley to Disneyland/World. She is only 6.5 month old. In April, we are going to Arizona for a wedding. What do think.

I really want to go somewhere and have a couple of days on relaxing, no computers, no cell phones ( I have 2, Blackberry for work and a personal one). IF not Dinseyland/World then Where.

It may be alittle early. I took Izzy for her 3rd birthday and even that seemed a bit to early for her. She really coulnd't appreciate it as much as an older child.

From what I hear DisneyLand is very expensive. I wouldn't spend that much money on a vacation until she's old enough to really enjoy it and remember it. Maybe take her somewhere warm and you two could paddle around at the beach or play in the sand. She'd probably like that and would be more relaxing for you than Disney. IMHO

Missabb is right on about the beach!!! Hunington is GREAT!!!!! Slather on the sunblock take a picnic and there you are (or order burgers from Dwights Surf Shop right under the pier!!!)

I try to take my girls to Disneyland every 2 years, Julia went the first time when she was 2 and LOVED it! She actually still remembered parts of it from her first trip before I took her last June. But the last time that we went we did have some pretty bad experiences (plus we took the x so that's probably why)...... But it does get PRETTY crowded and that can kill alot of the fun!

I took my daughter who is now 8 for the first time when she was 18 months old. It was a bit young for her, but the video we took helped her know she was there. She remembers being on a plane more than being at Disneyworld.

This summer while I am on maternity leave, we are going back to Florida and doing Disney. I have a friend who lives about an hour away from Orlando. Sydney (my 8 year old) is looking forward to doing Disney. This time she'll enjoy it more. But I'll also have the baby with me unless my friend's in-laws are up to babysitting. I don't want to have to ask though, so most likely the baby will be with me - and will be only 2 months old when we are there. This time is more for Sydney though and my friend has 3 kids who are at the ages where they enjoy it. It'll be fun to see my daughter experience it more now that she is older.

If you still want to go to Florida, there's plenty to do. So I wouldn't totally rule it out. Still beaches and other attractions you could take Kayley too.

Just relax and have fun wherever you go! Enjoy the time together!

Thanks for the improve. I'm still planning on someone after everything is complete. Because Kayley and I need a vacation. My Boss is being pretty flexible with my vacation schedule.

the beach sounds nice, since we had wind storm later wind storm and snow storms. Ok, maybe its snow storm is not a big deal to some areas, but Seattle and snow just does not mix, 3" on the ground and see closes up show.

You know I wanted to say Hawaii but I wasn't sure what your budget was. I wish I could remember the name of it, but I saw a show one time about family friendly resorts and there is one in Hawaii that is awesome for little kids. It had like a real sand beach kiddie pool and stuff. I think it was on Maui. You can probably find it on the internet.

I would agree with a cruise because not only will your daughter have a great time but it will also give you some "me" time to get yourself pampered a little if you want. I know that after all the time I spend with my daughter I appreciate a little break even if my "me" time is spent sleeping.

Hey,

This sounds wonderful! I've never taken a cruise with a child, but from what I've heard they do a great job enteraining the kids, while giving the parents time to enjoy themselves in more adult ways. At 1yo, just being on a gigantic ship in the middle of the ocean is going to be such an experience!

Cruises in general are good deals. I've only been on one, but the fun to cost ratio was incredible. This sounds like the perfect way to spend your vacation with your daughter.

Later,
Bobby

I tried to post about this last night, but something happened to my message. Have you thought about visiting Aquatica with kaylee? I think she might really like the animals and water activities. Its a new water park by SeaWorld - do you think you would check it out while you're around Disneyland?

LOL. No one else appreciated the humor Paul but I do! You should dig out a pair of platform shoes from the 70s.

Oops... didn't realize it was an old post.

So how was the cruise? I am looking at doing something this year. Usually try to get out of Florida for the summer and head to the mountains. I went to Leavenworth, WA last summer and did some hiking and kayaking in the mountains. Lake Wenatchee was awesome!

Was thinking about Mont Du Tremblant, in Quebec, or maybe Wyoming/Montana/Idaho this year.

Or I could just sit at home. Frowner
