At A loss for Words - NOT!

Well it has been an interesting 3 days at the centre for acquired brain injuries.

I have met alot of people, made some interesting friends there.

I find it difficult to sleep in a strange place and having all these appointments in one day. They certainly keep me busy.

Between occupational therapists, physio, speech therapy, social workers, group work, they have me on a tight schedule.

Things are coming along, but it is going to be a rough ride.

I find it difficult to not see my son for the time that I am in there. I do come home on weekends, but the weeks are very very long.

Hopefully I will gain the strength to tough it out for the next 7 weeks, but I doubt it.

Wish me luck...

M

Thank you.....

I doubt because my endurance levels are low. It is taking up alot of the energy I have to simply function doing normal stuff.

Apparently that is very common with ABI's.

The fatigue is expected to last up to 6 months. I am learning alot. However, I would rather be at home of course.

As for my son he is being tossed around from family member to family member, so it is stressful for me and him as well.

Whatever tragedy your family will face, I bet they really miss you.

Be easy with yourself. The brain has an interesting way of repairing and rebuilding itself.

Stress ruins it. Smiler

Well my freedom is almost over. I go back in tomorrow before 9pm. Imagine that, they gave me a 37 year old a curfew.....

LOL

They even took a picture of me before I left the centre in case I don't come back they will report me as missing. So I guess I better go huh?

Well, 6 more weeks to go.... *sigh*

That's what I like about you, despite everything, you still maintain that sense of humour. Don't watch the clock - it'll be a long ride if you do. I think you're doing great!

Keep us posted! We're thinking of you.

Don,
Everyday I see some improvements. My walking speed is improving.

I managed a grocery shopping ride with my mother this afternoon and a friend came with me as I sneaked a quick car ride in my car. LOL Of course just around the block

It needs major greasing, the shift stick I thought had seized, so will have to get that checked. I will have a mecanic come pick it up. Grateful to have good customers to offer me that service, that way I don't drive for the time being.
