At A loss for Words - NOT!

This may not be domestic violence but it is definitly abuse that should be punishable in the highest form.

A friend of mine will be entering the court room in 40 minutes to witness the sentencing of a girl that he and the mother of his infant had trusted to care for their baby....she shook that baby and threw her against the wall!!

Alura now has Shaken Baby Syndrome and was in the hospital for over 5 months.

Please, if you pray, say a quiet prayer that this girl gets the sentence that she deserves!!!

Sentencing is supposed to last about 3 hours, I will let you know what takes place.

Thank you in advance.

The tough part is that he has asked me to be there but i cna't, it would create too much of a conflict. The mother of the girl who shook the baby works in my office and is a wonderful woman. I feel so bad for her....but her daughter needs to rott!

That is so sad that had to happen. The incident shows she wasn't ready to handle the responsibility.

Its a shame no one offered to tell the girl who was intrusted with this responsibility how to get out of it. Someone should have told her if it gets too much, call me. It's a tragedy all the way around..

Sentence was handed down in less then 2 hours..

She got 5 years Prison and lifetime probation.

Alura must be fed thru a tube in her stomach; she is fully blind and there is no chance of her ever regaining vision; she has no mobility in her arms either......so sad!

That doesn't seem like it's enough. It's too bad the courts don't make her contribute something to the baby for the rest of her life.

That's so sad. I don't even know what to say to that. I just can't imagine how I'd be able to cope if this was my child. Prayers for the family.

Tessmit, she does have to pay $50.00 per month for the rest of her life and she has MASS restitution that she has to pay....but that still doesn't seem quite fair....maybe a big person in prison can shake her and throw her against the wall...... oh, am I having violent thoughts again??

I saw Aloura last nigh and she is soooo beautiful and her daddy was just making her laugh and laugh......precious baby girl.

That is so sad.Just the thought that someone could shake an innocent baby and then throw it against a wall,it's so awful.I can imagine the guilt the parents of the baby must feel, that they left their child with someone that hurt them so bably. And the baby,it must have been terrified. And now to never see again.I think the sentence the woman got was way too lenient.Everyone gets angry and upset, but to have something inside you that would make you do such a terrible thing is just plain scary. It's so dangerous, you never really know how someone around your child is going to react at a given time. Before, when I was growing up,it was strangers you had to worry about. Now,instead of telling your child to not talk to strangers,it's babysitters, pastors, teachers, coaches, relatives.
Such a scary thought,my heart goes out to everyone involved,it really makes you count your blessings, doesn't it?

I am not sure if any one has heard about this, but right now there is a little boy in FL he is only 6 months old that is fighting for his life b\c of SBS. For those of you that are on myspace it is all over. The mother's name is Kristy. Little boys name is Kaleb. Right now he is doing a little better. Doc's still dont know if he will make it. The part that really gets to me, the baby sitter that did this to Kaleb was released from Jail on a $1,000 bail. That is all. I fell our laws protect the guilty.
