This episode hit close to home with me. I couldn't move and my whole body went stiff watching this evil person (I refuse to call him a man) beat on this woman.

Memories of having my face pounded into the ground or my neck being twisted almost to the breaking point flooded back in. My ex beat me so bad a few times that there would be pools of blood around the house. I think that if my nose started to bleed and he saw the blood that it would make him madder because then the beatings got worse. My children were there one time when he punched me (we were outside) I was on the ground and he got onto his bicycle and rode over my throat......they were 9 & 8 years old and Julia was only a month. NEVER again.

This woman's husband made their 13 year old son video tape almost an hour of verbal and physical abuse. That is something that NO woman or child (and in some cases it is the men being beat) should EVER have to endure!

My abuse, like hers started verbaly and then escalated. There were ALWAYS accusations that I was seeing someone else.....even during my pregnancy.

PLEASE if you are ever in an abusive situation at ANY level, GET OUT! If you have a friend that is being abused do everything in your power to get her/him out of that situation.
There IS a better life out there. You may be alone, or have to struggle to raise your children on your own but at least you are free and safe.

I did not watch much TV so I didn't see the show.

About 3 1/2 years ago my ex was arrested for Felony assault, not only did the kids see it she tried to pull Amy from my arms. It was witnessed by one of my adult sons, but the DAs offices said it was only misdemeanor harassment, and then conned me into dropping the charge. The kids were use to her slamming doors, throwing things, yelling and screaming all times of the day and night. She taught her girls that it was OK to throw things at me hit me, yell at me, as I was an adult male and could not do anything back because they were kids and I would be at fault.

My 3 youngest are stuck with their mother because the system has never looked at what she does and she is very good at projecting her behavior on others. She has screwed up the lives of 4 kids already and my 3 want out.

I hope everyone looks at domestic violence from what it does to kids and not from an adult gender based position.

We need to stop domestic violence no matter if its the mom or the dad as the kids are the ones that bears the scars the longest.

I saw that episode too. And for me it brought back so many terrible memories that I would prefer to forget.

I was never hit by my ex. Only a few times did he even throw objects. But the verbal abuse sounded so much the same. And watching that woman stand still, keeping her face impassive reminded me of when I did the same. He would scream at me that I wasn't listening, yell at me that I needed to look him in the eye when he talked to me. He would push me for a reaction, but no matter how I reacted, it was never right.

She is doing more of the show on May 24th. She will be talking to her children.

It brought back a lot for me and all i watched was the clips. i do not wish anything like that on anyone.

Dad I was in simiar thing with state. I made such a stink calling everyone i could to keep them from making a deal with him. It was bad enough to me that he was only charged with a M after he told me how he was going to kill me and kid knap my daughter. Then tried to kill me came really close took a chunk out of my ear and everything. Trail took 5mths and he was out in three mths.

DAD I am not sure where you are but a good friend of mine (male got both his boys) so keep fighting it.

The fight is on, on Monday for several counts of contempt. The pits is, she should never have gotten custody, but the system this time didn't look at the facts.
