What items do I need to find on the noncustodial parent such as public information on current real estate property owned and or current transfers of property to get him in as much trouble as possible for nonpayment of child support. I have already located and received real estate property info- I need some ideas..legal ideas. Thanks

Kcmom,
I don't think you should be focusing on what information to gather in order to 'get him trouble' but rather, what to focus on in order to collect what is owed to you. In that regard, the answer is simple. Any all informaiton about his income and/or assets. This would include, but is not limited to, employment, pensions, pending lawsuits wherein he may receive a settlement, disability and social security benefits, trusts, inheritances, real property, automobiles, etc. As you probably know, most assets can be levied upon to enforce your past due support arrears. If you can't find any solid info as to income and/or assets, then you could consider learning as much as you can about his lifestyle in preparation of a contempt action. These items would include travel, entertainment, hobby expenditures, etc. Good luck. This does not constitute legal advice. NO attorney/client relationship is created by this communication. Please seek legal counsel. |

Great advice and just what I was looking for! And thanks for the correction; what I meant by saying "get him in trouble" was the contempt action. I have contacted the county offices where he lives and received some public information on real estate property that he owns, but most of it is in his and his brother's and brother's wife's names. His brother works for him, so I know his brother does not make enough to pay anything on the property and the names are just there to protect any action. Anyway, thanks again for the input.
