A few months ago I filed a modification and showed up to court, but my ex did not. The judge gave me another court date and my ex and I missed that since our son was in the ICU. Well now I need to either add to the first modification so I am wondering do I have to start all over or can I just add to it in Dec when we go to court again? I have done the whole divorce process and papers on my own, but just need help here and there knowing what I am allowed to do. I tried getting help, but I do not qualify and can not afford a lawyer since I only get CS and SSI for a special needs child and therefore can not work. I will end up in court alot since I think of things after the fact or do not have the know how to do it right in the first place, but I am trying.

Amy-

If you filed a Motion, you can just file an amended Motion or an additional motion to get any new issues addressed at this same hearing. Just make sure you send the court a notice of hearing. I'm not sure what state you live in so I dont know what the procedure because i only know Michigan but the Circuit Court Clerk should be able to help you out.
