I'm not exactly sure how it works if no one is on the birth certificate. Why don't you just put him on the birth certificate, and then you don't have to go through the adoption process. Doesn't the father have to give up rights for someone else to adopt?
I wish I had never put my daughters father on her birth certificate.

I dont know about Canada's laws but in Michigan you don't have to put anyone on the birth certificate. I didn't. However if you are married then in Michigan the husband is automatically put on the birth certificate. Its the law here.

What do you want to do? Do you want your BF on the birth certificate? Remember that if you put him on the birth certificate that will also give him rights, same as yours, while if you don't, if you two break up, you'll be saving a bunch of money in lawyers and you won't even have to switch to GEICO.

PS: After having a cup of coffee with bishop come and have a margarita with me
