My daughter is almost 15 months, and lately she bursts into tears and throws a tantrum when I pick her up from her sitter! Everyone I've talked to says it's a phase, that she just likes being around the other kids, and I get that, but I can't help being hurt when I reach for her and she clings to the sitter! People are going to think I'm not good to her!

She's also not very nice to me at home. A lot of the time, when I touch her or talk to her she yells at me or shrugs me off. We've always been just the two of us, us against the world, and I feel like because I have to work, which basically puts her at the sitter more than she is with me, she is actually beginning to prefer them!

It's thrown off my confidence as a mother, and I feel like I'm being needy towards my 1 year old!
I know that people are right when they say that I'm taking it too personally, and that she just takes things out on me because she's confident in my love for her, but I need to make sure also that this doesn't negativly affect my parenting. Kids can sense when things aren't right, so it's turning into a vicious cycle.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I feel so bad for you evysmom,I can tell this is really upsetting you.I wish I had some words of wisdom for you but unforunately I don't.Are there times when she's loving to you at home?I wouldn't worry too much as long as it's not a xconstant behavior. My mom babysits this adorable little girl that just turned two,she cries maybe two minutes after her mother leaves and when she's picked up in the evening she cries and doesn't want to leave or even go to her mother. My son and I used to have mommy and me days, whenever I felt we weren't as close as I liked we would spend the whole day together ,movies ,out to eat ,the park,it made me feel better and he had fun. It's when they get older that it really hurts.Mine is 11 going on 20 and most of the time I feel like I'm the least favorite person in his world.Trust me,it's not just your child.I really wouldn't worry much about it,even though I know it breaks your heart. If it's a constant thing and doesn't show loving feelings at all you could talk to your doctor and see what he says.My thoughts are with and I'm sure your daughter loves you very much. :huggies:
