I find it interestring you folks have given up. if these where my religoin I would be arguing off the scale, maybe I am more passionate about what I beleave. Ah well, sorry to make a point of no contention.

probly, but thats me on the forums. I truly try not to argue in public/or private.

I believe that Christianity is the right religion.

Paul- you said that who are we to say who is right or wrong when we are talking about the same God?.. well heres the difference. Jews believe in the same God Christians do.. but Jews do not believe that Jesus was Gods son. And Jesus being Lord and Savior is what Chrisitanity is all about. Also, the Jewish religion seems to have a lot of man-made rituals, as does other religions.. but non-demoninational Christianity is all about what God says, not rituals. Basically what seperates Christianity from most religions is Jesus... i know that we can only establish a relationship with God and experiance the power of God, through Jesus. Jesus did so much for us all on the cross.. He allowed us to have a friendship with God, gave us the opportunity to go to heaven, allowed us to have communication with God, and forgiveness. The Jewish religion doesnt believe that this is true. So there is a huge difference between each religion, even though, most religions believe in the same God.

I do actually know the bible, I am a back slider, I simple couldn't handle the hypocrocey my ex, and a lot people where about at church. I still incurage my kids to go to church, and they love it, and its good for them. Who knows, one day I may make my way back there, I just am not ready to deal with it yet.

Ps, there is a organiztion called "Jews for Jesus", they have many memebers.

I know a lot of people who dont go to church because of your reason... but does it really matter what those hypocrites do? I dont think it does.. i agree with you that there are so many hypocrites out there, but that isnt going to stop me from doing whats right and living a God written life story, and it shouldnt stop you either. I mean..since you are a "backslider" because of the hypocrites, does that make you a hypocrite as well? I just think that I should do what I know is right and what I know God wants, and just pray for those hypocrites, because all that really matters is that my name is written in heaven. So, you should praise God if you believe, because God loves you and He doesnt want the actions of others holding you back from him and neither do i.

Actually I probly am a little bit of a hypocryt. But I have allways believed in God, even when I wasent a active church member. who knows why my path went this way, maybe it was deterioration of faith and I am getting a wake up call.

Remember that once youre saved, youre always saved. You can backslide from God, but He will always eventually pull you back to Him. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I did make the commetment, I have been baptized, I am still a memeber of the free methodist church down in Modesto CA. My girls like Assembly of God churches, they where very active when we lived in missouri. Thx for the prayers, we sure need it.

I am not sure but it seems to me there is one very important factor missing here. Spirituality.

Now I am a very church going Baptist. I love my church family and would do anything for them as I know they would for me. They were with me during my husbands and daughters deaths. Honestly I am not sure how I would have made it through if weren't for them.
Anyway my point is it does not take being active in a church or a specific religion to be a Spiritual person or close to God.
It took me a long time to find a church I was happy with. Previous I was not active in the church yet I still had a close relationship with God. I happen to know several people that do not attend church or any type of organized religion yet they are probably some of the most spiritual Godly people I know.
Finding the right religion has to do with what fits you as an individual and your family. Just because one belongs to a particular religion does not meen they have to follow it to the letter either. I am baptist yet I have to admit I like a cold beer now and again.

Oh my, I am so sorry for your loss tomany2count. I am not sure I could go through it. I know you don't need the church to be a God fearing person, but its a support base also. I did meet a lot of good folks in church, but maybe living with hypocracy tainted me somehow, I really don't know. Ugh, now I am confusing myself. Sometime I am not sure what my feelings are. You dont need to go to church to have a relationship with God.. but going to church and having fellowship with other believers is what pleases God. Therefore most people who do have a relationship with Christ want to please Him and go to church.. its not necessary but it is good to do. God doesnt want us to be closet christians and he wants us to get to know our family (fellow christians). Thats why church is a good idea to go to. I mean- why wouldnt a christian want to go? I'm sure that if a Christian doesnt go to church God will definitly ask that person why they didnt go before they enter heaven. Not saying they wont enter heaven, but im pretty sure that God will ask that question along with many others.

I have been waited to respond to this, as you can see, I responde allmost as fast as I see the post. But, I can't come to God inless its my time. I don't feel it is, so the best I can do is make sure my kids, who are good christians, do. Peace

God doesnt have a certain time for you to come to Him... He is open to you coming to Him whenever.
