At A loss for Words - NOT!

Morgan,
Just because someone does not go to church does not make them a closet Christian. There are a lot of people, like Paul, that do not go because there are some churches that are full of hypocrites, thus the reason I went to several before I found mine. Now don't get me wrong there are a lot of ones that have a lot of great people in them also. Church is only a tool to help us grow closer, not a cure.
Lets define fellowship: 1.A body of fellows or associates. 2. Companionship;community of interests. 3. A grant of money for further study.
Church it's self does not please God. God could careless about a biulding and what is in it. God cares about fellowship. These people I am talking about do not deny fellowship they just choose to do it in a different fashion than in a church or specific religion. They practice the word in their every day living, they preach the word and try to bring others close to God. They live very healthy Christian lives.
I know of a group that does not have a church at all. They talk over the net and meet at peoples houses for bible studies.
This conversation in it's self is a type of fellowship that I believe would please God. The biulding is not of importance here, what is in peoples hearts and souls is. Sometimes we have to look past the walls to see a bigger greater picture.
Acceptance is a great key here. People have to grow closer to God in there own time not anyone elses. They also have to do it in there own way. We all have unique and individual relationships including with God. Just like raising children in order to help them grow sometimes we just have to let them be where they are. Continue to give them good stuff to grow on and it will happen when it is suppose to. We can't force our kids to grow up any faster no matter what we put in them. This is how people have to grow to God also, let them do it naturally.

Paul,
You are not the only one that has trouble figuring out emotions. Boy if you only new the roller coster I have been putting myself on the past few weeks.lol Roll Eyes Smiler We all do it is part of being human. Part of what makes life so fun and interesting. You will find your relationship with God in your own time and on your own path. None of us are on the same path to him.
It will happen as you are ready. What helps me is to sit quietly and just listen. He will talk to you and repeat himself if needed. Some people don't become close to God until late in life while others find him early on. Some find him early and move away from him then come back. It does not matter when you become close to him just that you do. Who knows maybe this conversation is your calling, I don't know, only you do. It sounds to me that you believe in God and your savior you just may not have found your way of expressing it yet.

I agree 2M2C. I love it when people come to God when they don't need Him for something rather than coming to him out of a crisis. But either way, at least they are coming! I just hate to see anyone have to hit rock bottom (or even close to it).

Sorry that I'm posting this response so late, but I rarely get time for the internet.

"....(snip)...Jews do not believe that Jesus was Gods son. And Jesus being Lord and Savior is what Chrisitanity is all about."

You are absolutely correct here. Jews do not believe God had a child or needs to have a child. The messiah we pray about in Judaism is not divine in any way (only God is or can be divine), but a human who possesses the ability to bring the Jewish people together in Israel and inspire the entire world to prepare for the World-To-Come.

"Also, the Jewish religion seems to have a lot of man-made rituals, as does other religions.."

Rituals and laws followed by Jews and Noachides come from the Bible, and the Bible was given to us by God. So therefore we are following what God has commanded us to do. Many of the rituals are very specifically written in the Bible, and Jews take very great care in performing them exactly the way they are written.

"Basically what seperates Christianity from most religions is Jesus..."

Of course! Belief in Jesus as messiah and savior is the definition of a Christian. That's one reason Jews are very frustrated by the term "Jews for Jesus" -- people who are Jews and believe in Jesus are CHRISTIANS.

"i know that we can only establish a relationship with God and experiance the power of God, through Jesus."

This has certainly NOT been my experience.

"Jesus did so much for us all on the cross.. He allowed us to have a friendship with God, gave us the opportunity to go to heaven, allowed us to have communication with God, and forgiveness. The Jewish religion doesnt believe that this is true."

You are correct. The Jewish religion does not believe that Jesus' life or death allows us to have a relationship with God, a place in the World-To-Come, or the ability to be forgiven. But that doesn't mean we don't believe we can have any of those things. We believe we have ALWAYS had the opportunity to form a relationship with God since God created Adam & Chava (Eve), we can achieve a place in the World-To-Come by following the laws God gave us (be they laws for Jews or laws for Gentiles --> Noachide Laws), and we may be forgiven if we ask forgiveness from those we have wronged (including, but not limited to, God). It is not necessary to go through someone or something else to have any of these things. They are there if you are willing to do the work to earn them.

Please don't be so quick to judge others. Judaism is a beautiful religion, full of passion and love, joy and happiness, pain and sorrow, faith and hope. There is FAR more to Judaism than meets the eye. All it takes to learn about it is to open a book and start reading. You will find truths there that you never knew existed. Don't just believe what someone else tells you, following them blindly like a puppy. Study and learn for yourself -- find your own answers to the questions you have. How else will you ever truly believe and understand them?

Julie

Even though this apears to be a dead post, and probably better left that way: im gonna put my two cents in.
There is no RIGHT RELIGION, wich is different than saying, THERE IS NO REAL GOD. Remember what jesus said at the well: THERE WILL COME A DAY WHEN PEOPLE WILL WORSHIP IN TRUTH AND SPIRIT!
You see religion is about allegiance to a particular dogma. Where there is religion there is man, and where there is man, there is sin so no religion can be right, again "there is none good but God"
You see asking wich religion is right is ridiculous and prideful, CHRISTIANITY as you call it is a league, a league of people(sinners) who claim allegiance to the teachings of Christ? or is there allegiance to the teachings of there church, your church? Pentecostal? Baptist? Catholic? what does all that mean? There all just leagues of people who are caught up on samantics. Truth and spirit! Truth and spirit! and that still dont make you right!! It just makes you joyful, it just brings you peace. Only Christ can make you right and there is NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN IN WICH A MAN MUST BE SAVED. So you can swear allegiance to any one or any legion you wish. But dont let pride fool you. If you claim to know God , it is because the spirit has led you there, and not because ony doctrine you have been entitled to because of your intellect and re(LEGION).

I agree Brother... has nothing to do with Jesus Christ or Heaven or which religion it is. There is no "right" religion and if we think there is it means we think others don't have the right to believe in what they believe. I think the question is ridiculous..... Of course somebody is going to believe theirs is the "right" one... but it is only right for them if that is what they believe.

I'm in a bad mood today, so leaving it at that.

I believe that the Bible was written so long ago and has been retranslated so many times that in order to understand what is true and not true, you just need to meditate and pray and this is how you can know what God and Jesus really have to say. All the different translations of God's Word leads to all the different denomination, and I don't think any one is right or wrong, per se, but there may be one that's right for you or wrong for you. You just find the best way to live the way God intended you to and it doesn't matter what church you go to, God will always love you.
