"escalators can never break. They can only become stairs.."
Setting New Standards
Posted
First off, I'm starting this thread because I'm looking for information, and possibly clarity. You all know me well on this site, I hope my friends here understand my intentions aren't to attack or offend.

If anyone has links they can post, please do so. I understand that Pope Benedictine was drafted into the Hitler Youth Army as all boys his age were in Germany.

Can anyone tell me what his views are on Judism and Christianity? How about American Catholics?

I would like this thread to be a resource of information, not a thread of theological debate.

Here is his profile. All German youth had to join the Hitler Youth Organization. Pope Benedict was a good and close friend with Pope John Paul. John Paul was the only Pope to ever apologize to the Jews for the holocaust. I do not think he would befriend a NAZI. The above is from The BBC.

That's a great article. If you have any more, I'd love to read them.

I just googled Pope Benedict. I will do more research. I am not Catholic, but my husbands family is devout. My father in law will be able to answer a bunch of questions.

A good aarticle is here, it is on Fox News but is direct from the AP....

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,153926,00.html

The section you will be most interested in is about half way down and begins with..."Raised in the oak forest and pine foothills of Bavaria, he said he was enrolled in Hitler's Nazi youth movement against his will."
