I have to agree that Christianity is the correct religion. I am nondenominational. I truely believe that although life is difficult, and we are unable to understand or explain the things that happen in life, that everything happens for a reason, that it is all in God's plan. I won't get up on my soap box right now.... =)

FYI about chiristanity....
The bible has been proven wrong in some places. For example, it says that the world is flat and there is no question about it; this is also why so many people were prosecusted for saying that the world is round before it bacame a scientific fact.

Prove me wrong Razzer

The bible has never been proven wrong. Not once throughout history. It also says in the old testament that people should not eat pork. This was because pork was not taken care of back then and people were getting sick. It says no where in the bible that the world is flat (beleive me, I've read it)
But if it did, it would be a matter of misunderstanding do to lack of education. People have gone a long way, socially and ecenomically, since biblical times. It's been 2000 years!

As for my feeling on Religion, I was raised in a non denominational church.
One day I picked up a History book on Catholism (which of course I had been always told was a bad religion that worshipped Mary and statues.
I diescovered, not only is this not true, but also many other myths about the Catholic church are untrue. I decided to look more thoroughly into it.

I discovered, all throughout the Bible, mention of the Catholic Churh. St. Paul the Apostle was a protestant, persecuting Catholics, until he realized his mistake. He was not a "Pagan" as many protestants are told.
I would seriously think about researching this religion, even just for history's sake.

I could reccomend some very helpfull books.
"surprised by the truth" is a compilation of people' stories who were protestant and against the Catholic church. They give there biblical reasons for becomming Catholic. a VERY good read. Also, "The story of a soul" is very inspirational. Written by Therese of Lisuex.
If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them.
the best thing that I ever did was to decide to raise my daughter as a Catholic. The stability of it alone is worth it.
SInce I became Catholic, I have done nothing but advance, spiritually, intellectually, my faith has grown in leaps and bounds!

P.S.

Catholism IS Christianity. It is Christianity as the apostles of Jesus practiced it. That is why the Catholic Church is called the Apostolic Church. It is the only church that practices the same things that the apostles taught. Research this, you will probably be surprised at the fat that I am correct.

If you can say that the Bible the word of God has ever been wrong then I will pray for you. I will pray that you find salvation before you come to the end of your road. The Bible is the only truth in the world. It proves to us how wonderful God is and how he thought of everything. I belong to a Baptist Church. I belive that as long as you except Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and rose agian and that God is your heavenly father you are saved. But I also belive that in the end our plase in heaven will be based on our works today. So please take heed, do you know were you are going>>>>????? The Bible has and will never be wrong...

Hi,

I must say as a born again believer I really don't believe that there is one good religion. These days religion is used for evil. I believe that if you have a personal relationship with God and you follow him that you will have eternal life. Forgive and Forget i find that to be the hardest, but the bible says something like " how can our father in heaven forgive us when we can't forgive others" he also tells us to forgive 70x70. I know from my own life altering changes that have a relationship with God is th emost amazing experience I have every had. I have been saved for over 7 years and I can see the changes in me that I thought would never happen. Prayer is so powerful.

Just a thought

Angela

Ps. I am not pushing this on anyone it is just my personal belief

w/respect to "religion" I'm not a very religious person. Meaning that I don't adhere to strict tradition. I'm a non-denominational (not charismatic or pentacostal) Christian. I went to a pentacostal bible college, but I found myself disagreeing w/the whole "feelings" thing and name it and claim it mess. Anyways, I believe that the bible is the infallible, divinely inspired word of the living God, that there is only ONE truth or truth does not exist and that the bible says what it means and means what it says. I sound really rigid but haha I'm so not. With respect to religion I tend to loathe that word, also, as far as Catholicism goes I wrote a paper for theology I when I was in school about the differences in Catholic and Protestant definitions of sin in comparison to what the bible says...I was very surprised. I read tons of books written by Catholics as well as Protestants and came out w/the knowledge that the Catholic church is a trip =) Protestants tend to skew the word too..and the bottom line is that somewhere between the extremes..is the truth quietly waiting to be discovered. You can make the bible say anything you want it to say..but if it's not w/in the context of the words then it's not what God wanted. Anyways I'm rambling, just thought ya'll's conversation was interesting.

I love that there's been so much discussion on this! The bible says the only way to the father is through the son so Christainity is the one form of religion I choose but as we say at my church... "it about the relationship not the religion". As long as your relationship with Christ is all that it should be you'll never wonder if you're right. You'll just want everyone to find the peace, joy, and love you've found.

Wow it amazes me that everyone of these post has been on christianity. But from all my studies of religions that noone has failed to mention is that had their not been Judaism that christianity wouldn't have existed. Does anyone not realize that. Please try and prove me wrong and I will through tons of research at you. But I don't think we should even ask the question of which religion is the best. All are good and inspirational in their own way. If we let our children hear us talk about catholisism or pentecostal or christianity or what not being the one true religion or the best religion then we are inserting a prejudice into them. These little people are our future lets not make them prejudice of religions let alone anything else. Yes you can raise your child what ever religion you want but lets not make them think that that is the only good and true religion. Thanks

Shannon

All I can add to this is be careful to 'follow' religion. Religion is man-made. Christianity is NOT a religion..pre say. Its a faith of following in Jesus Christ, and the belief that he died for our sins. I was Catholic, but have left that religion far behind me. I am a firm believer in Christianity, and am a follower of Jesus Christ, not the distorted views administered by the 'church/religion' created by man. You really need to review your choices, and when you do..let me know. You'll find that most religions have changed the WORD of God to suit their beliefs/needs. I'll reply later with some information that HOPEFULLY will help you.

And by no means, am I putting down peoples beliefs, I just feel obligated to enlighten you on some things...

God Bless

Actually..I would be surprised if read the right bible, the one translated directly from Greek, before the catholics got it..check your history of Bibles, when they came out, and how many changes each has been through. And yes...The Blessed Virgin has been put up to the ranks by the RCC....you need to read more, and also....Baby baptised? Go back to scripture, and let me know where it mentions 'babies' getting baptised. The Catholic religion actually has changed the process of baptism 3 times since the birth of Christ. Was Jesus a baby? And what does the bible say about the Baptism of Christ by John?

I have done a lot of reasearch both by reading the Bible (best method) and by reading concordences and all sorts of online articles. www.livingcog.org is a great site. They are not only christian but they are really trying to live by EVERY word/idea of the Bible. Some find it too strict (they do not condone premarital sex and actually tell you that you cannot do it because God said it was not allowed) but i find it gives me peace and stability.

As far as the pork thing...I believe it had something to do with we aren't supposed to eat animals with that kind of hoove, or feet, or something to that extent, not because of "they weren't taken care of".
Well, I am a Christian, so that religion is best for me. But, who am I to say that someone else's is wrong? I can't make that decision for anyone. Because after all, a Christian wouldn't condemn their fellow man right? I don't agree with a lot of religions....but that's besides the point. The point is,...what religion may be best for you, may not be for someone else. As a Christian, I believe that Jesus is our Savior...and I always will....but, I can not judge other religions based on the way I view things.
