I am New to SFV
Posted
This is my first time on this site and I am so glad I found it. I have a very specific question about God. I became Christian only recently. I am so grateful for that. Here's the problem: the man I am in love with moved away to go to a Christian college, and six weeks later he writes to tell me we can never be together because it is morally wrong for me to ever marry anyone other than my child's father. My son is six and has never met his father, who wanted me to have an abortion instead of a child and then left me. We were never in love, and I can't even concieve of marrying him after all this time. My question is this: where in the Bible does it say that a woman has to marry her child's father even if they're not in love? The way I feel is that he had the chance to do the right thing, and by leaving he dishonored me and I have every right to find a new love. Any insight on this would be helpful. Thank you all.
