Hi, I'm Cacina and have 3 children. I have a desire to go to school. I have attempted in the past and bailed. I get very nervous about my financial situation. Then I listen to all the negative people who tell me I won't be able to do it. Last Semester I took two classes, and working 24 hours a week. I was getting A's in both classes, but I quit because the pressures of the world. It was hard, but I was doing it!!! And I was low on cash, but I'm low on cash when I work full time. I only have 2 more years to use my GI Bill and I really think I need to use it. I just worry I won't financially make it. Any suggestions? Confused

Do you live in Tucson? My sister lives there. There is a daycare on 5th Street near Stone that will work with you. I know after my sister had her first child she went there and she had to only pay $20 a week. Check with DES about housing assistance and childcare assistance and food stamps. My sister has assistance with all of those, as well as medicaid for her and her kids. Her husband makes 6.50 an hour/works 60 hrs a week and they have 4 in their household. If you go back to school full time, that will help you get assistance. THere are some apartments on Yavapai (off of Stone). I used to live there a couple of years ago. THey are nice little apartments. They are fairly close to the U of A. You could get an extended studio for 275/month. Utilities ran me around $60/month (electric and phone). They also had 3 bedrooms for 545/month. Call the Tucson Urban League and ask to speak with Barbara Rodgers. Tell her that Jeanette from Georgia gave you her name. She helped my sister, and I'm sure she can help you. (She's my son and niece's godmother). Hope this helps.
