Hello, I am a 35 year old Mother of 2. My son is 12 years old, 7th Grade and My Daughter is 11 years old, 6th Grade. I have recently applied for financial aide to go back to school in the Spring Term of 2004. I have received a Pell Grant to do so, but I am wondering if there is any way to get some help to pay my rent and other bills while I am in school. I will probably continue to work and attend school at the some time, but am not making ends met with all my finances. I received help from the Family Indepenancy Agency in my community for Food and Insurance, but am not able to receive any assistance in the cash department, because I am not working 40 hours a week and can not comply with our communities Work First Program to receive any cash benefit. I can not go to work 40 hours a week, go to school during the day on Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. till 2 p.m. and also be home for my children after school when they need me the most. That is the compliance that our community Work First Program would like people to grant. You must take classes in the evening work 40 hours and still be a parent to your children. I think that is crazy and I know that I would pull my hair out if I had to do that. The other thing is when do I do my homework? When do I help my children with their homework, take them to basketball pratice or other after school events, such as band concerts or dance recitals? My children are involved in all of these after school events. When do you eat, do laundary, clean house, load the dishwasher, and take care of your pets. I have a black lab, 2 years old and a 6 month old kitten, as well as a fish.

Please give me some suggestions to help with my Rent and other bills while I attend a four year program in Psychology to finally get a good paying job to support myself and my 2 children!

Thanks you to anyone that responses.virgo82568*yahoo.comhelp

You can always take out some student loans. Thats what both my mom and I do. They are really helpful! Just ask your financial aid office.

You don't want to take out too many student loans though because you will eventually have to pay them back. You don't want to pay back more than you have to. I would suggest applying for scholarships as well. Try www.scholarships.com, www.financialaid.com, and www.fastweb.com
