Yessssssssssssssssssssss, there are tons of grants and scholarships.

I just got my classes for this Fall and couldn't be more excited. I feel like things are finally going to get RIGHT in my life as far as career wise.

Start with fafsa . ed. gov

It will get you established with finacial aid. Apply for the BOGWaiver (might just be for California, but pull anything up online line that has to do with waiving enrollment fees for your state)...this will waive your enrollment fees and a few other things. I just found out that I only have to parking for my pay for my parking sticker for the semester ($30.00), thank God.

Grants - Grants consist of the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, and the Cal Grant.

I am so exciteddddddddddd....You have no idea. I feel like I'm making a huge difference in my life and the future of my children. So many issues stopped me from continuing my education and today, nothing, nothing can or will stop me from being successful (even more).

My only set back is that I work fulltime also and I wish I could of done this fulltime, but to carry 7 units and three kids at home, wwwwwwwwwwwwwhew, not to mention, dance classes, karate, basketball, and cheer practice. My parents will be doing a lot of those events with the kids. I wish I could spread myself a little thinner, but I'm so very thankful what the blessings that are happening daily in our lives.

Good Luck to you.... Big Grin Big Grin

Also look into your state grants. There are grants that you may be eligible for because you are a part time or full time student.

There are grants that are for women, single mothers, parents of twins etc. Keep in mind, any student loans you take out, can be deferred and no payments will be due for six months after you leave school.

I too am a college student in my Junior year of obtaining my BBA. I will be attending law school in a year.

Good luck!!!

PS the previous responder is correct, there is a wealth of funding out there, especially in Cali. (Go Cali)

I graduated this past spring from college. I filled out the fafsa form every year and after the 1st year of college my entire tuition was covered. I got money from the state, federal and from the school. But my freshman year I had to use up my savings to pay for it. I went to school full time, I don't know if it will be different for 1/2 time. I worked part time during the school year and full time on breaks and just put as much in the bank as possible so when I wasn't working much I could fall back on that, but I also only have 1 child, I'm sure if I had more it would have been harder. Good Luck and remember they say the 1st year of college is the hardest, so just push through and know it will get easier.
I am proof that life after college is easier than it was with out the education, I now have a very good job, which pays well and I enjoy what I do. My son and I are much happier this way, the struggles of the past few years were worth it to me.
