I am New to SFV |
im a 33 year old single mother of 3 i want to get my ged and go to schoolto become an lpn now heres the hard part i only have an 8th grade education i recently lost my job and live in a rurul area of missouri i need to find soma kind of aid or grant to help with living expenses and transportion while i get ged and go to college i just recently bought the house were living in and dont want to lose i know with only an 8th grade education it may take a while to get ged there are only min wage jobs around here i drove 30 miles to work one waydoes anybody have any suggestions any help would be greatly appricated

You will qualify for grants and scholarships. The GED is not that big of a deal. It's not like you have to go through 4 more years of high school before you can take it. Get a GED help book from the bookstore then find someone to help you with the parts you don't understand. Many public schools offer classes to help you get your GED.
The college part should be easy for you--financially. If I didn't already have a bachelor's degree, they'd be paying ME to go to school! There is a national shortage in nursing, so and LPN might qualify for a lot of help. Check out FastWeb.*** for scholarships. Also, check with the college, university, tech school, or whatever that you want to go to--they'll lead you to a world of financial aid. Don't quit until you reach your goal!!!! Good luck!!!! |
