Has anyone ever attended real estate school? If so was it successful? Im looking for extra income, so I thought real estate could be the answer.

Hi, Denise3, and welcome to SFV!!! I haven't actually gone to real estate school, yet, but I will be soon enough. I actually work as a real estate assistant, which is just to say that I handle the office end so the realtors I work for can concentrate on getting listings and making sales. I personally love what I do because it allows me the flexibility to be there for my son and still make a great living. I've got the best of both worlds. I know that you can take online courses for your real estate license because my brother's girlfriend is doing that right now. I don't know that I helped you any, but just thought I'd give you my perspective on this field. Hope to see you around the site!

Thanks Ty's mom,

Your information did provide me with more comfort. As soon as I get the funds I will be enrolling in a class online.

What was the cost of your course and did you have to pay all of money upfront?

$295 and yes I had to pay upfront. It did include the cost of all the materials. This particular course is a Maine Sales Agent course. It is one of very few that you do not have to take the state exam as the exam for the class has been accepted by the Real Estate Commission. It is a 39 hour course meeting 2 nights/week. That is Maine though and each state varies greatly... but a start to an idea of what it takes.

That site was listed at the website of the school I'm going to. Looks like there at the very least might be some good info. I opted not to do online because I just learn it better being able to ask questions and get involved. Hope that helps anyway!
